Hi, does St Marg Sec require to buy personal notebook to bring to school? [No] Is it more IT-savy? [IT lessons are standard, also got regular IT workshop for parents] Any idea do they learn home economics during Sec1?[Yes, up to sec 2]

My girl is in St Marg Pri and i think she is likely to go the sec school.. hope to know more about their curriculum. Appreciate any feedback.

      Thanks πŸ™‚

I heard from my friends that a few year back, SMSS doesn’t take in anymore Normal Technical students (Affiliation from SMPS). Being curious, why do they take in again? And does anyone know in future, will the affiliation between SMPS & SMSS be removed?

I think it was MOE's direction to the school to start the Normal Tech classes a few years back. There is only one class.

The affiliation between SMPS & SMSS will not be removed. As long as, SMSS is their first choice of school, they will have a place in SMSS. The only change starting with this year P6, is the COP for Express course is 200. Any girls scoring below 200, will have to take the normal academic / technical course. Currently, I think its about 188-190.

              Hi mistymum,

Thank you for your reply πŸ™‚

So it is definitely that they won't remove the affiliation? Is your daughter in SMSS?

The COP has been raised to 200, does it means the school is doing well?

The COP for the school is around 239-240 for girls from other schools.

The COP for the SMPS girls to get into SMSS EXPRESS stream will be 200. Else they will have to take the NORMAL stream.

Welcome to the St Margaret's Family ...

The PSG organizes lots of activities ie Breakfast with the principal, Talk on handling teenagers, throughout the year for parents. Look out for them. And you also get to meet other parents.

Btw, I am not from PSG, but from SMESA, the school's alumni.
