Yippie131, thanks for sharing! My gal is in P1 this year, she has homework everyday except Monday cause Monday is a no homework day for her class, however, the work load is very light and manageable.
From my experience, I believe the school did not do screening based on their performance, they group them based on their birth month, my girl's class most of them are born in July and Aug, so almost every alternate day in Jul and Aug she bring home some goodies bag coz the classmates celebrating bday.
My gal really like the school very much, she enjoys all the lessons and have adapt to the culture very well, though she was from a catholic kiddy and have less interest in Mandarin before this, she can pick up very fast. Since the school has a very high standard chinese and my gal can cope very well, i didnt send her for chinese tuition. On the other hand, i send her for English enrichment and math tuition, coz I worried that the school's std of these 2 subject might be lower, just my own tot... -

The school seems to have lots of assessments for P2. I have difficulty coping with all his revision. Sigh!

Ya, same here. Chinese revision is a disaster. My boys forgot most of the words. It is impossible to understand all the 词语 and yet they are tested. Then there is compo and diff types of oral. Next English, haven't finished revising stellar worksheets, then realised there is HM ones too. Then realised that need to go thru spelling lists just to answer 2 editing qns which is 1 mark each. Oh mine! I thot people say P1 n P2 are honeymoon?
Can't imagine what's after P2. -

My son's last Chinese test is a disaster. I actually went through 45 units with him. 45 units for a mini test?!?! Anyway, he also forgot most of it. Trying so hard...

Any re-test? How they calculate marks if no re-test? My DS2 was down with HFMD during the Chinese's LangDu test. He was given a re-test the following week. The passage was harder and so he did worse than his brothers

nonKiasu:
haiz, the problem is re-test is only on the very next day after the actual test, but she is down the very moment after her english test. so no more re-test. i guess they will be accessed based on the no of test taken....

Are you happy with your child’s results? How is banding done for P2 this year?
-
Gabby,
Results not back yet right? I think most of our kids will only get back their papers tomorrow, so exciting …
And not sure why they have still not announced on the AM session for P3 next year. Hope there is not going to be a last minute change.
