Hi, anyone with young kids who are wearing glasses? My 4 yr old boy is recently found to be myopic and has been wearing glasses abt 1+mth. Any advice on how to teach the child to take gd care of his glasses? I keep telling him not to remove his glasses unless teachers at childcare or myself and hubby is around to help him but at times he still tries to remove the glasses himself. N barely 2mths his glasses are kinda crooked aldy. Need to go back to the optician to get it back to shape. 😞

Hi Miuz, try to get him the plastic frame & not those thin metal frame. The plastic frame is more durable. My DS used to wear those thin metal frame glasses & I need to get them change half yearly. After changing to plastic frame, he has been wearing for nearly a year without causing any major \"harm\" to the spectacles. 😄

Hi miuz, how did you realize that your kid needs glasses? One of my worries about my child is him being myopic. As I read your post, I begin to imagine him wearing glasses and getting them damaged while he is in childcare (nobody to guide him on his glasses and his garmen I.e mummy not around).... :faint:

i use to need glasses when i was in pri 1 (the sch got provide those health check and eye checks tt’s how i got detected)…but i just refuse to wear them and slowly after i grew up…i don’t to wear glasses i also can see…but recently keep facing the PC and work so i went to get a pair of computer lenses to make sure my myopic don’t get worst…

i remember i also got the habit of keep taking my glasses out n looking orh bit in it…tt’s one of the reason i don’t like to wear it too…

to check if a kid need glasses:
                    squinting of eyes frequently.
have habit of looking at tv / phone screen at a very near distance.
have diffculties focusing in school during lesson due to cannot see properly.

can bring the child to spect shop n get the eyes check if really need to have a spect.duno the spect shop will charge mah…but shld be small amt even if have.

When my dd was attending nursery, she would cling on to me for her dear life and refused to go into her classroom for a week. So I got my DH (she not so sticky to DH) to send her instead but I promised her I would fetch her after school end. Amazingly, she didn't even cry but walk in after waving goodbye to her dad. After a few weeks when she got used to the routine, i would bring her to and from school. 😄

So maybe you can try getting someone she not so \"sticky\" with to send her.

                        Hope it helps. 😄
