Sorry, busy for a while and did'nt come to KSP. Yep, DD was a GEPer with 5 others from RGPS who joined NUSH in 2010. GEP only make up 20-25% of NUSH yearly intake. There is no special or preferential treatment, hence no SBGE classes. Besides the cohort of 29 NUSH girls are spread into 6 classes. Hence everyone is alike. No special treatment even for Einstein ++. From the DSA selection process, you can already see that NUSH is the only place where GEPers and mainstreamers are treated the same, based on their own strength and merit.

1. Usual stationary but not too much (no doubt 20% discount) as all school need their own school files. There are tonnes of lecture notes, work sheets, assignment, quiz etc and NUSH in particular has this thingy called files check for practically every subject which my DD already got used to as a GEPer. Mainstreamer need to get to this else they be buried by volumes of papers, for those disorganised one, a night mare. There are plenty of file checks so need to have some separator or indexes for each subject areas.
2. Popular will not be able to supply any science reference materials for NUSH curriculum so there is no need to prepare, except for a thick and very comprehensive Advance Biology text book (~ $100) which they will buy during orientation day. Mainstream Chemistry and Physics book (for Sec 3/4 Express) is used as guide for year 1 & year 2 foundation in NUSH.
If keen to have head start on mathematics may try reading up sec 3/sec 4 E or A maths. Some subject like Biology even seems at 'A\" level depth from the start. Even subject like English and Integrated Humanities are at pretty advanced level from the start.
Most reference and study materials are provided by respective subject dept so there is nothing to prepare.
In short NUSH year 1 curriculum start at Sec 3/4 Express level and accelerated from there. There is greater depth and intensity in each learning area but most student can cope with it.
Understand that your DD comes from a GEP school. Did she enrolled in SBGE in NUSHS ? Is it a separate class besides the 6 classes ? Or does she has classmates from mainstream too ? Any difference in the programmes or modules taken from the rest ? Thanks. -

Yes, NUS High offers SBGE. There is no differentiation between primary GEP and non GEP, everyone takes the same SBGE in NUS High.

All GEPer are entitled to GEP scholarship in secondary school (they are still monitored by GE Branch, MOE) if they satisfies the GEP requirement at P6 and hence no need for EESIS which is for only for mainstreamers with PSLE score of 260+.

GEP are still entitled to their scholarship (amt same as EESIS) even if they don't meet the NUSH PSLE Cut-off point. Most NUSH student who are not strong in MT( for high PSLE score) scored at least 250 + but are not entitled to EESIS.
No, My DD was'nt even aware (like me) of Einstein Club or Einstein ++ until she heard the Open house talk in 2010. She like the school learning environment, the non \"O\" & 'A' level curriculum , and no major national exams (he he ) .. Having said that DD had few ex-GEP classmates who really want to join NUSH but did'n make it somehow thru the test or the camp. Talk about fairness and equality treatment for all, NUSH is no 1. -

The teachers or subject mentors don't teach or rather they can't teach everything ..eg. some Math topic in Y2 are briefly covered in 1 or 2 lesson .The student are expected to read up themselves. There are no spoon feeding..(hence no tuition required). A lot of passion and self-learning are required. At NUSH you start practically at Sec 3 level (thinking mode - based on my observation). These are fairly matured kids not the average one.

What about the other schools’ SBGE (can ignore ACSI coz they also run the prog leading to O level which I presumed is not SBGE)? Do they have special curriculum for selected pupils (GEP or otherwise)?
