      Hi Scary,

My son had a great teacher when he was in P1…and we were very impressed. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the case when he went to P2, P3 etc…however, he did get dedicated and caring teachers when he was in P5.

If you read ksp long enough, you'll know it's all got to do with the prioritization and allocation of limited, desired resources. If a thick band of the cohort gets similar scores, then the system would have difficulty deciding who gets into their choice schs, assuming most will apply to IP/popular sec schs.

This difficulty may somewhat be addressed by the degree of success in implementing the ministry's effort to ensure \"every school is a good school\".

If the root of the issue is due to scarcity of good schools, meaning the supply is not able to meet long pent-up demand, this gap needs to be filled over time. If, let's say, there's enough \"good\" schools for deserving students, can we say goodbye to the the bell curve?

Hi, I've got something to ask here. My DS will be in P1 next year. Would anyone be able to share any perspective on putting him at a student care ? what are the student care that are available , and comments about any specific student care ?

There is The Kidz Club (TKC) which is near the sch, some comments from a BTPS parent below.

                  http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=4403&p=809348&hilit=The+kids+club#p809348

Inside PH, there is the Care Junction student care managed by volunteers from Glory Pres. Church. But vacancies are limited.

Thanks Brownbelt. Will check that out.
Do you have any experience with either to share ?
What is your perspective comparing putting a P1 in a student care vs at home ?

Does the child need to bring own lantern or if the sch provide/sell?

We had the worst experience in P3 - had to go for extensive CL tuition (twice weekly) and intensive coaching at home.

Reason: I did not believe my boy's comments on his teachers, I chose to think that he was inattentive, I chose to believe how I felt about the teachers at my first and only meeting with them in March

                      UNTIL

I spoke to other parents whose children (who are more obedient than my boy) also suffered under these teachers.

There should be a lantern in the goodies bag.

Last year, there were many games stalls manned by ex-pupils. Most pupils were busy playing at these games stalls than walking ard with a lantern.
