DS received the invite from his Form Teacher too. Will let him join since it's after his PSLE and think it'll be a great experience for him too.

Where the invite from? Direct from HCI or decided by form teacher?
DS got CO but didn't receive any invite...

We too. Not been told of such camp from school.

Hi Yukilei, is yours a SAP school?
No, not Sap school & yes, during PSLE marking days

Not sure if I understood correctly. MOE will rank the sec schools in accordance to their GEO O level result. The ranking is from 1 to 10, with 1 being the best. I think they're scrapping this. Whether a school is good or bad should not be determine by academic result. The intention is to tell everybody that every school is good school.

I think the definition of 'good' needs to be clarified. For some people, 'good' must equate to performance in exams, and if it is understood this way, then it cannot be true. There will always be some schools who produce better exam results. But if other aspects are taken into account, like school culture, CCAs, niches, proximity to home, etc. then I agree, every school can be 'good'. I think this understanding of 'good' is what Singapore should aim for, not that every school should necessarily produce the same level of exam performance.
:thankyou: so those Sch offering IP does not include in the rank since they don't sit for o level right ?
By the way , where can I find the ranking ?

I am aware that since last year, after accepting a DSA offer, one is not allowed to appeal to another secondary school.

What I heard is, since last year, after accepting the DSA offer to a 4-year secondary school or 6-year IP school, one is not allowed to change school for the next 4 years and 6 years, respectively. Is this true? I find it hard to believe that MOE would impose such a ridiculous policy.

Anyone has heard of any case where someone accepted a DSA offer last year and managed to get transferred to another school this year?

              Thanks.

For those who received only WL, assuming your choice school still has no place for you after posting result is out (the worst case eventuality), how are you going to strategize and fill in the option form on 22 Oct? E.g. How would you indicate your 6 choices in the option form? Do you have to place as No.1 the school that has granted you a WL? Welcome your advice. Thanks!

That doesn't sound right and it would be silly to impose a no changing of school policy for the entire 4 or 6 years. But maybe parents from last year's DSA exercise have better knowledge?

If I din remember wrongly, during one of the tea sessions, one of the principal did warn/remind us that once a DSA offer is accepted, no transferring is allowed throughout the entire 4 / 6 years. So to consider carefully.

I think the preference form on 22 Oct only has 3 choices. The 6 choices option form is for you on PSLE results day only if you are not successful or did not participate in the DSA exercise.

Even if you are not successfully posted to any school after the DSA exercise, on PSLE release date you can still put the desired school as first choice if you think you can still meet the cut off point based on the Sec 1 posting exercise.
