Haircut boy's mother responds, says she's disappointed case highlighted

The mother at the centre of a row over a teacher cutting her son's hair has said she is disappointed that the case was highlighted by Education Minister Heng Swee Keat.

In his annual Work Plan Seminar speech last week, Mr Heng cited Madam Serene Ong's complaint to the police about a teacher who cut her son's hair as a reason teachers \"often feel anxious about dealing with demanding parents\".

Responding, the 39-year-old sales manager told The Straits Times: \"Mr Heng didn't even speak to me to understand the entire situation.\"

While it is fine to be criticised by netizens, it is not so when the minister does it, she said.

I can confirm that Serene Ong can make a police report against Minister HSK .....

Wah Piang!!!! HSK didn't speak to her to understand the entire situation??? ...

There is always two sides to a story.

To be fair, both parties should be spoken to before any comments are made.

When our kids quarrel, we parents will also listen to what each child has to say.

In the long term, he will slowly forget but over the short term, not if he is being reminded after each rebuttal his mom made about her actions. Also, it depends on people around him will remind him or not.

Oh suddenly it occurred to me that you might be referring to him wanting to forget badly so he might have a memory loss on this incident?

The prev Education Minister must be so relieved he is FREE of this portfolio.
But if he stays on as Defence Minister (NEH), he will be the next one to get complaint by the SAME mother.
So does this mean that if any minister wants to quote an example, do not mention names?

the minister can telephone Serene Ong for permission[/quote]Maybe the conversation can go like this, \"Mdm Ong, we have professional hair stylists in the SAF. I would like to inform you that any other hair stylist will not be able to conform to our standard.\"

maybe HSK should have quoted the $60 hair cut incident
