Cold weather for toddler - what to wear?
-
Hi all!
Hope to get some advise. Bringing my 14month old on her first overseas trip (minus sentosa )
Hong Kong now about 15 degrees. Wonder if she needs gloves? Any idea where to get gloves for so young kid?
thanks! -
Yes, you do need something to cover your girl's hands. You may like to get mittens for her as they are easier to put on and take off.

There is a shop in the basement of Lucky Plaza that carries affordable winter wear for adult and children. I got some for my kids from there when we went to HK in Jan last year.
You'll also need wool scarves to keep the neck warm. Layer her clothing so u \"adjust\" and remove some when it's not so cold, eg indoors. -
I second the layering. If they wear one thick jacket which can get too hot in the mall and they start sweating and thats how they catch a cold easily. Would also suggest wearing a t-shirt as a undershirt and change it whenever it gets damp. Same goes for socks.
You loses most heat thru your head, so, would suggest wearing a hat.
Keep hydrated, cos when its cold, it gets dry and you lose lots of fluid.
Lip balm to keep them from licking their lips and causing cracks.
last but not least hv tons of funs and take lots of pics.... :celebrate: -
To keep young children warm, wear leggings(socks attached) and tight fitting long t-shirts tugged into the leggings. You need to trap the heat inside the body. For the head, it is good to have a woollen cap.
Once you have done this step, all other layers added on can vary according to the temperature.
A scarf is very versatile and if too cold, it can cover neck, ears and nose. All the small parts of the body will turn chill very quickly so this is useful to have.
