How do i get to Boston from NYC??By train?? ISIT easy??
NYC has 3 airports : La Guardia (LGA), Newark (EWR), & JFK. There are plenty of flights from LGA & EWR direct to Boston, about an hour, fare is about US$100 plus. train is available too but din try that before. fly is faster and Boston airport is just a few minutes by taxi to downtownverykiasu2010:
I am planning a trip to eastern US year end . I have got a flight booked to New York, wondering what other cities nearby that is worth going??
Boston, Washington DC
if you are connecting directly & immediately after landing NYC (depends whether you land at JFK or EWR)....book your connecting flight accordingly. The transfer from JFK to EWR takes at least 2 hours (giving some allowance for traffic congestion).. EWR is in New Jersey, JFK is in NY. -
You can take a bus from NYC to Boston etc. I was told that buses taken from the Chinatown area in NYC are much cheaper. You might want to do a Google search on that.
I took the Greyhound buses previously, and I find it not bad. There was free wifi and plugs to charge the batteries onboard the buses. At least the journey was not so bored. So you might want to consider Greyhound as well. -

My dh has this thinking that since he flew all the way to NY, he prefers to cover as many places as possible. So with that in mind, we joined SA local tours in June this year. There is a separate discussion by other forumners on tours4fun, etc... For us, we wanted a tour that brings us all around as I thought logistic will be a challenge (especially with the no. of luggages we've)... It was probably the best arrangement for us.
We spent around 7-8 days and covered Philadelphia, Washington DC, Boston, Atlantic City, Statue of liberty, Niagara falls, Ben & Jerry, Hersheys, Ottawa, Montreal, Ontario. Not forgetting the outlet at woodbury, etc... We also spent close to 1 week in NYC only. It was great and I am so glad we did that hols. Really missed it  -

It was ok. As we travelled by coach and it takes time to travel from one place to another.... we actually got lots of time to rest on the bus. So we actually felt rested...was it hectic to cover so many places in 7-8 days ?

Initially wanted to base in NYC and take local tours to those places. But we realised there wasn't much local tours to choose from (grayline does have those 1-2 days type only but not like the ones we did). There was also the complication of luggage, laptop and hotel booking that I had to consider...dh didn't want to drive as he rather relax on the coach. So in the end as the timing match, we joined SA tours. On the last day while the group was touring NYC, they drove us to our NY hotel which we stayed on for a couple more days.
I compared them to insights, globus, etc... and their cost was cheaper. Saw another tour group online called tours4fun. It's alot cheaper but we were skeptical after seeing the review on tripadvisor. But someone on ksp did it and found it ok. Added advantage to us was all Sporeans.... so we had chinese food for dinner. It's wierd that we start to crave for chinese food after too much american food... Also, sporeans focus tour.... eg. guide gave us lots of shopping opportunties. She brought us to 3 outlets (including woodbury) and a duty free at Canada (for cosmetics). So it was happy shopping, sight seeing and eating...
