My dd will start her SA 2 on 27/9 to 2/10 same as those taking PSLE… There will be streaming and subject banding too… Cannot wait for the paper to be over. Teacher has been throwing a lot of mock paper for them to do so far so good hope she can maintain her standard for her SA 2 -

Still little homework.
No mock papers.
Good for me since I can reinforce self revision at home.
Started him on science guide note taking - one week one guide.
I close my eyes looking at the type of notes he churn out. But he spends more time scrutinizing each chapter and I guess making his own notes makes info stick onto his head better, even if those notes need a lot of improvement. -

What chinese assessment books are you currently using? Will you be buyingthe same for next year?
I am using Victoria last and this year.
Thinking of switching to raffles publication, those with notes in front type. -

new to this thread. have girl in P 5 next year… am surprised to read that some schools don’t hv streaming? tot it applied to all school? mine dd has streaming… and don’t know if she should take higher Chinese IF she do well enough and has an option…
am also looking for tuition for her in English and science. currently she is attending Mindstretcher at Toa payoh. wondering if I should change…ESP. the English as I know they like their science tuition teacher but she hasn’t done that well… grades barely improved too despite doing papers, tuition etc.
Any recommendations for good science or English tuition teachers or schools? ideally Toa payoh. but if really good can consider nearby like bishan, novena Thomson…
what about good assessment books? read in another thread that teachers circle ones are good -but all they good for all subjects? are the marking system focus good or relevant for all subjects?

This series has notes like english explanation and 造句 for the text book words. But there is only one exercise every two topics instead of topical. Thinking if I should switch to this next year, not only for the notes, but also so my boy need not do it weekly and can alternate it with compo practice.

I have bought the P4 one for DD1 but it was under-utilized
The reason is she finds that the book too \"thick & heavy\" and she does not like the idea as you mentioned above - one exercise every two topics.
