i couldnt stand kids who constantly challenges their parents, or teachers worse… sorry to say i wouldnt know how to teach them correctly too… its the accumulated kind of behaviour that ppl around him has implant in him that made them challenge the adults…

Talking back - is what my mom's generation used to say. Rarely hear parents complaining about it these days. Who's heard this: Tee Kee, jiao geh, xiam loh gai ou jiao!

I heard every single one of these from my mom.
your \"jiao\" here is still safe when broken up and translated individually
unlike vlim's \"par\" & \"jiao\"

all these are the very familiar "scoldings" from our parents… i dun use them on my kids now… i use either eng or chi only…

kids now don't know a single word of dialect... sad coz they don't experience that sense of fun and camaraderie when we speak similar dialect to others.
When my DH and I want to \"criticise\" my DS and it's not for his ears, we'll use our Cantonese and Hokkien dialect. :evil: -
