Recently learned a great tip for cooking fries without frying them.
Peeled and cut up potato into strips or wedges. Dry well with kitchen towel.
Whisk 2 egg whites with pepper/curry powder/5 spice powder and a tablespoon of veg oil.
coat cut potato with the mix and bake in hot (200 degrees C) oven for 12 to 20 mins (depending on the size of the wedges) and yummy fries without the oil.
Serve with a lower calories dip: Whisk low fat/no fat greek yoghut, finely chopped spring onions/chives, squeeze of lemon/lime. If you like it spicy, add a dash of chilli powder/mexican spice/cajun spice. -

KopiYing, I've got an Electrolux one which costs us less than 60 bucks. Simple two knob thingy - grill/toast and temp; then one for time. Comes with a tray. I like it
coz it's able to toast my stuffed mushrooms in 20 minutes flat and I don't have to wait for the oven to be heated like in the conventional kind.
Nice! Where did you get for less than SGD $60? -

You can try the A1 brand in orange packaging..They have 2 different paste for meat and fish....I found they are comparable to the fresh one sold in the wet market....If you are using coconut milk, i prefer the fresh type sold in NTUC in 2 different sizes and not the Kara tetra pack....The latter does not taste so shiok...If you are buying the paste, you can also add your own lesson grass...Fry it together when you are frying the paste....my DH is a curry chicken lover and so we cook this once every 2-3 weeks lah.... :drool:hi all,
any recommendation for instant curry chicken mix/ paste? or any recipe for curry chicken?
