Travel: USA - Florida/Orlando

actually its not Orlando, but California. DH going for a biz trip and wanted us to travel with him. Iβm not that keen to bring a 2 yr old for such a long flight. Anyway trying to gather more information before making a decision.
DD is quite a calm mild tempered gal, so im not so worry abt entertaining her during flight. we took her for a couple of trips before and she behaves well during flight.
now thinking about jet lag, which could be a killer coz she dont sleep well. I might have problem getting her to sleep on plane. i suppose it will be a up hill task trying to get a 2 yr old to sleep on command. -

Thank you so much for the details and for taking the time and effort to help me check, Dnls_mum. :thankyou: You are really expert at this :udawoman:Miracle Child, I just did a quick check for you. Assume you check in on 28 Nov and stay 6 nights and get a 4 day MYW plus water park (park tic cost USD922 for 2 adults and 1 child) :
Moderate resort :
Caribbean Beach pirate theme room water view : about USD2500 with free Disney Dining Plan. exc park tic = USD1600
Value resort :
All star muSic Preferred room : abt USD1700 with quick service dining plan. Exc park pic = USD800 for room and food.
As you are only booking now, considered late cos Americans very KS and all book early, cheapest room with promo no longer available. But if you DS like pirates, Caribbean will be fun. ASM preferred means neared to resort bus stop or food court. The price diff of the 2 also reflect the meal difference. Restaurant meals very ex in Disney. To compare apple for apple! If you upgrade the quick plan to regular at ASM, you pay USD200 plus more.
Actually the price of the ASM Is similar to non Disney hotel and come with free meal some more. :rahrah: only prob is the first week of Dec is pop Warner week in Disney and the cheerleaders tend to stay at the value resorts and these teenagers could be potentially noisy or rowdy
:siam:
If you want to have an idea what type of food they serve at the various restaurants and fast food / food court, check out the menus at
http://allears.net/menu/menus.htm
Really tied up with work recently...so much so that didn't have time to really plan and check the details.
Looking forward to the break. -

I am truely waiting impatiently for mine

Can you bear to leave your kid behind and go with your hubby on δΊδΊΊδΈηοΌ i am so evil   Bring 2 yo so far she also don't know what it is about and then all suffer and got Jetlag etc. :yikes:
I am not so capable as some mummies, I'll die if I alone gotta manage a 2yo on a 18 hr flight! I'll go crazy if I don't sleep on plane, then I will have jetlag and be miserable. Like that I'd rather not go :siam: -
Hi Dnls_mum, which package did you purchase for your stay at Hardrock Universal? Did you buy the park tickets together with the accomodation or separately online? For the breakfast at Three Broomsticks, do you reserve through Hardrock? Done during the booking of accomodation? Thanks.

I bought a Harry Potter Package which included Hotel, Park tickets and Breakfast with reserved sitting, and rooms were at 30% discount for 5 nights stay too. I just checked and they don't seem to have the package now. Probably promo is over. The package was not cheaper, if buy hotel and park tickets separately price also the same, but cannot get the 3 broomstick breakfast. Three Broomstick is a counter service restaurant and normally does not take reservation and I understand that queue can be quite long. Only with the Harry Potter Package allow reservation.
I am thinking of switching resort to Portofino Bay to try something different since we stayed at HRH previously too, but now the package no more, so I don't dare to switch in case i lose the breakfast booking

Hi,
Where would you go to shop for
(a) Disney souvenirs? in the theme park itself or is there shop outside that we can get similar souvenirs? (Thought of not \"wasting\" time in the theme park shopping)
(b) branded (but cheaper than Singapore :rotflmao: ) clothings, bags, shoes, etc for both adults and kids?
Thanks. -
Miracle Child:
The souvenirs in Disney can generally be found in most of the shops in the parks but each park has their own unique items and each shop in the park also carry some unique items. We stay at a Disney resort so whatever we buy we just get them to send it back to the resort for us. No need to carry around.Hi,

I think there is a Disney store at the premium outlet as well but this normally carry diff stuff as the theme park generally. Some stuff are exclusive to theme park and not available at the outlet Disney store. Even the different resorts may carry diff stuff.
For discounted branded bags and clothes, I go to the premium outlet at Vineland ave or international drive. Lots of choices and huge place. Love the shopping there. DH told the boys that premium outlet is mummy's theme park
