I’m not into ebook so probably am wrong but my take on it is that not all titles are on ebook, not sure if some books have the illustations that i so love in some books; prices of e- is more expensive than from such sales.

My kids won’t be able to finish the volume I buy. If I were to leave them to browse a reader, likely they will play games rather than read, now they happily go through the home library and find surprises along the way. Its a bit like buying from the shelf vs buying on the web - one you can touch and enjoy the buying…the other is just clicking button, less attachment.

One advantage of ebook probably will be me not buying duplicate titles…so that MAY be a good thing.

I was talking to someone abt how I felt I didn’t buy enough books from the last MPH expo sale for DD and she told me "Download on iPad lah!"

My response "I want to teach her to love books, not love iPad!"

But then again I am the old school type where I still like to read newspapers in print…

I did… nothing exciting if you had been the one 2 weeks ago.

The usual chapter books… michael morpurgo, charlie small, magic tree house, A-Z…etc. The selection for picture books is extremely miserable.
And no Q at the cashier.

Just wondering if it is my imagination - is mph organizing more expo fairs this year? I don’t remember so many of them last year… But then again, I didn’t browse ksp last year…

Was there last night. Yes, selection seem to be the same as last time. Saw a lot more single titles of Charlie Small, a small box full of Mr Men/Little Miss books (nope, didn’t browse). Managed to come away with a few titles after some thought.

Very very few small children (ie with lotsa pictures) books, more of intermediate/advanced readers. Series as ilovechubby mentioned, also got dianne wynne jones books (Howl’s moving castle author).

Thing is, I had stuff from the $5 range of kiddy books and some $5 (mass paperback) - they count towards the group (ie 5 books of $5 will be discounted to $20). So can consider mix and matching.

No queue at the cashier’s. I still think the pricing is a bit confusing. Some stuff they consider trade paperback ie $7. Best to ask the staff before committing.

Am still wondering if I should have bought a michael morpugo’s book - the cover is different from others and it says ‘unedited copy for proofing, not for sale’. Am sucker for these sort of things. kekekeke
