      I know this sounds silly....

Any parents here send your child to NCPS from West area- Bkt Merah/Queensway? How long is the school bus journey? Will P1 & P2 still in afternoon session come 2014?

I just found out I'm consider old girl as I went to Nan Chiau High School. Considering it is a good school since my time in the 80s, DH and I are keen in registering DS next year.

Hence I'm collecting info. from parents here. Thank you 
Yes, You can apply under phase 2B if you are an old girl of Nan Chiau High. But I still think the school is too far for your son to travel to Nan Chiau & I don't think the school bus operator will pick him up from your home either. Unless you want to consider moving to Sengkang or somewhere not too far from Sengkang. Alternative, your hubby or yourself is able to drive your son to school every morning. By the time your son goes to P3, he has to stay back for supplementary lessons till 3pm or later. You will need to pick him up or let him goes to a students care centre. By 2014, Nan Chiau will become single session school.

Nan chiah high school? there is no affiliation btw NCPS and High school.
suggest you to check with NCPS before considering further..

I called the school and confirmed I'm considered old girl, the staff asked if I studied in the old campus (maybe only to ex pupil studied at Kim Yam Rd). And if I join the lifetime Alumni member (ex Man Chiau Girls or High) , my child can get in as P2A1!

You don't have to join lifetime Alumni member, no balloting for phase 2B so far. Yes, It is only for ex pupil studied at Kim Yam Road. At that time, still do not have NCPS.

Hi, my hubby and I are keen to enrol our girl in Nan Chiau. But recently, heard from a friend that her child whom studies in the school feels stressed by the teachers and is unhappy. Sometimes, he even refuses to attend school. My friend told me she feels the teachers only emphasise on academic results and not the character development of the children.

I would like to hear more feedback from parents with kids studying in the school? Do your kids have difficulties coping with the schoolwork? Is tuition necessary? Do they enjoy going to school and find learning enjoyable rather than stressing?

          Hi
I personally feel that the P6 are more stressed than other levels . But my girl still enjoy going to Sch . Even PSLE coming this week , school still give supplementary class till 4pm . Told her to study at home and relax but she insist of going . Just wonder what medicine the school had given her .

My younger girl enjoy too . She learned a lot of Chinese culture , speech and drama etc.

It therefore depends on individual . Let them have fun but of course we must also look out for their school works too .

My boy is in P6 too. He has supplementary till 5.30pm on Mon & Tue for last week & this week. Tomorrow is PSLE & there is supplementary lesson on Fri till 3.30pm. All schools push their P6 kids, not just NCPS.

Can check with ncps too ! If within 1-2km still got chance , of course may depend on the nos of students for that year . I have a friend got in within 1-2 km under phase 2B w/o balloting .

If u got the time , do two school pv . My colleague did that . She can compares what the 2 schools are good at

                    Good luck
