Is it Jane's frequent arguments with her brother was over toys?

I thought it was supposed to be:
Jane frequently argued with her brother over toys.

Answer: Jane's frequent arguments with her brother were over toys.
Frequently means more than once, so must be plural.

Does anyone know how to do qns 12:The report said that the huge sum of money sent to the flood victims _______ mostly by Singaporeans?(the qns is something along this line)

1) had been donated
2)were being donated
3)have been donated
4)ws being donated

should be 4) was being donated.

huge sum of money = singular
said = past tense

It's 1. The money alrwdy sent so it means that money was alreay donated

I thought it should be 1) had been donated. As the singaporeans donated the money first then the report came out..my kid said he had been taught this before in tuition as a timeline question

re: situation writing, write a good deed to principal, it should be done in a formal writing right? ( or informal writing?)
