To implement "LIKE" button
-
Iβm new here. And was flipping thru the different threads to look for things discussed.
Frankly speaking, when someone made a good remark, or something u agree with, u will want to reply it with Good Post.
Another person who sees it will post same thing. After a few pages, thereβs still ppl posting back or replying to older comments saying Good Post.
This makes ppl reading the history very troublesome.
And also, i see so many posts with just a laughing icon to support the joke in their comments. These are just cheats to increase post count. To attain their whichever color belt.
Having a like button reduces that. So when somebody still does that, i mean to reply the post and say Good Post again, it means the person is trying to increase his post counts. Maybe many users like what buds said, sounds to be users of ksp forum since long ages back. U all may be still used to replying with Good Post, but new users like us wun be able to cheat the post counts by replying every other post just to say Good Post.
I hope u get what i mean. -
mamago:
Oh, u are one of those who cajole for likes ah...Imami:
Like that ar...
The reputation will be deemed as some form of status in ksp. It is very normal to accept that the higher a member's reputation, the more \"senior\" he/she is.
My concern is, sometimes the good posts May not attract \"like\". We have nice folks who updates on book sales or current affairs or even assessment books. Such posts most often don't attract \"like\".
there could also be abuse of such system. Already I see at least one member cajoling for \"like\".
That was me joking with Tankee, don't you get it? Madam Almighty?

I totally agree.... these are the PCW. From what I see, some member even clicking 20x or 30x of these laughing icons daily, and we are made to read again and again the same quoted posts... -

Yes, I am not FAKE like certain people, I got the guts to own up...
At least I don't have to act cute and go around and calling all the uncles as kor kor... -
Bookwrappers, welcome aboard.

What you say makes a lot of sense about using 'good post' will take up space and 'like' is a better option to keep the forum neater and save space.
Every implementation has its pros and cons. The good news is your feedback plus others who want 'like' by post has been good and effective and Chief took the feedback seriously and responded quickly to a solution that has already been proven on FB and remove the reputation part.
Despite not knowing exactly what this would bring, for now personally I will embrace this change with the idea that this has proven to work well in FB. Let's take some time to find out if it works here and take it from there. :hi5: -
regular here donβt based on post counts or number of likes \ goodpost to know who truly has been helpful and sharing
anyway, the title of "Councillor" is given to such individuals.
and there is this "Community Support Awards" too. -

Yes, totally agreed.
I join as a member less than 3 months, learned a lot here from some truly warm members, they are a mixture of senior and junior... also had my share of being slammed.
And, the one that slammed, has not even reached the Councillor status yet...
So, just need to take a little time to distinguish the spoiled apple. -

That's why to implement the like button should minimise, if not totally cut down on that.Bookwrappers:

I do agree the reputation count may be uncomfortable to some ppl but this is just a way to count the no. of likes a person has accumulated. So changing the word reputation to total likes should solve the problem that some users are unhappy about.
Of cos, we still want the forum to be happy for everyone to use. -
