        Hi! 711mum & Smartmummy,

Perhaps we can all start by contributing to the following thread started by Pinky Piglet:-
Preparing kids for P5 in year 2013

Hi Club 2002 Daddies and Mummies :snuggles: :hugs:

May I check with you - for the SA2 Chinese Language, what is the weightage for each component / section?

I was just looking through DD1's school letter on the SA2 exam time-table and the breakdown of the various topics. When I zoomed in and take a look at the Chinese SA2 - the Chinese Oral is 30 Marks out of the total mark of 100! :yikes: :yikes:

          1) Oral ---- 30 Marks
          2) Listening Compre --- 10 Marks
          3) Compo --- 15 Marks
          4) Paper 2 -- 45 Marks

:faint: Alamah me - I was still in my la la land when DD1 had her CL Compo last week and I left her to do the reading herself
Sorry for late reply, usually don't use computer during weekends...

My dd's Chinese marks breakdown same as yours. For CL orals, it's 10 marks each for passage reading, picture discussion and conversation. For EL orals, it's 5 marks for each section. In the end, P4 final results will be a combination of CA1, SA1, CA2 results and SA2 papers. :xedfingers:

DD1 showed me a list of ä½œę–‡å„½čƍ儽叄 given by CL T and I almost :faint: She said CL T wants them to memorise 5 sentences each day as 听写!

One of the example (I doubt I will able to know how to use this šŸ˜‰ ) is:-
čæ™äøå…³ä½ ēš„äŗ‹ļ¼Œä½ ēœŸę˜Æē‹—ę‹æč€—åļ¼Œå¤šē®”é—²äŗ‹ļ¼ šŸ˜“ I literally have to take out the dictionary find the ę‹¼éŸ³ for 耗子 then explain to DD1 it's meaning! šŸ˜“
Sorry, but do you really think this is considered 儽čƍ儽叄ļ¼Ÿ Maybe it's just me, but it seems a bit rude and uncouth to me leh... šŸ˜“

:rotflmao: :rotflmao: well this is given by CL T so I can't comment where did he get the statement from. But I do know - DD1 did not memorise this and she definitely won't be using it her Compo writing either because she said,\" the word \"耗子\" 很难写! Hahaha.

Not to undermine the authority of teachers but I think sometimes we do need to advise our kids if we feel/know something is not right... I'm afraid I'm guilty of that

                    Good morning mummies!!

DD1 finally gets her act together and woke up especially early to revise over the weekend. šŸ˜„
But she was somehow upset over the remarks that one of her teachers made. This teacher is always comparing her class against the another HA class, and voiced her disappointment in the class for not out-performing the other HA class. Dunno why she keeps doing it. I thought teachers are supposed to be encouraging? Is it healthy to make comparisons? :?
Hope DD1 can overcome this with my encouragements, keep trying her the important thing is to do her best. :xedfingers:
