Fengshui Audit For House

We engaged a fengshui master to see mum and our place and I think his price was quite reasonable. I saw that other masters were charging based on type of house but this guy charge me a flat rate of I think $800 for 2 houses at that point. That was like 5 years ago.


Our house was more extensive due to extensive renovation work. We got him to see the place (original state) before we renovate. He helped determine who is suitable to stay in which room, the direction of main door, the exact location of our stove, washing area, bed facing, study table facing, color of bedrooms, etc… So we did the renovation with his advice in mind. When we are done, we got him to come in again to view what was done and then to finalise those furniture (mainly bed and study table as well as fish tank) facing again.

This master learnt from his father and both of them saw our first place and we found it ok. So got him to see for us again.

dh’s ex-colleague used him and they were unable to conceive for many years. Subsequently, they went to have 2 children (many years) later. Not sure due to Fengshui or what… difficult to tell… Another friend of mine used him as her flat structure is very bad (main door can see all the way to kitchen type, pillar over the bed, etc…). His 1st question was, can you shift??? She was at risk of being made redundant at that point as her boss relocated. I was involved in it and we know her job security was at high risk. But till now she is still holding her job.

BTW, we did get 2 fengshui stuff from this master (lion and pixiu). But his price is very reasonable. Eg. not more than $800 for 2 stuff. My mum’s friend engaged the master who always appears on tv and every item is very expensive…thousands type and there are so many recommendations. BTW, we engaged the service of the master who appear on tv to name our last child (as the one we’ve been using for marriage date and older kids passed away… very old man who is in his late 80’s).

Btw, there is also a pillar above my bed (can't help it). We have been sleeping with our feet towards the bed-head ever since we became 'aware' of this issue. It takes a while to get use to it. My bedroom door also directly faces my toilet door, thanks to HDB's design. I have been trying to keep my toilet door closed. Overall, we love our flat; its spaciousness, airyness & minimalist decor. Do not wish to make drastic changes.

I've pm you. You can check with him his rates. I didn't come in touch with him for a couple years. I last recommended him to my friend 3 years back (the one with job security issue).

My mum's room has a toilet (not directly facing) so he asked her to keep the doors close. Previously when we liase with him, he gave us practical fengshui tips and buying things was only limited to the lion and pixiu. Mum's house had to get the pixiu as her main door to facing a pillar.

In her case, besides pixiu, he also recommended her to get a shoe cabinet to block. Also he will tell the \"lucky\" spot. So yes we took note of those and put crystal, plants, etc... in those spot.

I am not a believer but DH and Sis are so we consulted a Master for my business where my sis is helping out and also when we bought our current home.


He did not sell us anything at all but he gave us some chinese coins to be placed in certain places and he advised which room is suitable for which kid and where to place the beds and the study tables. He also told us things to avoid base on our horoscopes. For every negative aspect, eg, sharp corners or areas with low energy flow, he will advise us how to counter it.

Whether or not it works, I am not sure. But for those who believe, I think it buys a peace of mind.

quotes from fengshui masters' website ranges from $688 to $1500 for HDB exec flat. That's why I'm not willing to spend unless recommended.

Actually there are alot of shops at race course road area that sell fengshui stuff at really cheap prices.


The issue is whether got 开光 or not. So we actually have to pay a premium for those that has been 开光。 This is subjective depending on one’s belief and whether they are at ease with it.

For those who believes in 开光, you can DIY. Another way is to bring the item to the temple and ask the monk/priest to do it.

Personally think that in so far as it does not cost an arm or leg, ok to see fengshui for piece of mind. If there is, it gives you a comparative advantage. If there isn’t, your loss is limited to the monies paid.

I saw a fengshui master for my current Hse. He said my husband will have a car accident this year but it won’t be serious. True enough he drove my car in June and got into an accident but not injuired. Then he says my house will at some point of time has leakage problem. Now I wonder whether it will come true. He told me usually people see him once a year. He says most people ask him to enhance "4D" luck.
