Any kiasu parents here have children that attended this lesson before? Suitable for 3months to 6 years old. It is available as an enrichment program at their AMK hub branch. Any comment or feedback please? :?:

I have personally make a trip down to the centre to take a look.

Although the centre have been re-paint, the playing tools {bicycle, cars} are actually veri old & dirty.

Worse of all, I got to wait half an hour outside just to wait to see the principle.

While waiting, I can hear the teacher screaming & shouting at the children. Although they are not my children, I still feel heart-pain to see the teacher shouting at them just bcos they are too noisy.

In the end, I just walk out of the centre w/o wanted to wait to meet the principle.

Now, i really in a lost… dun noe whether to put my 2 kids to childcare centre???

TLS took over the centre which both my boys were previously at. Being an acquisition, we were obviously very concerned about the changes they will bring to the centre and how much that will impact on their learning.

During the meeting with the parents in Oct, we learnt that they had acquired 4 other centres with this being their latest. Which raised questions such as how can they ensure quality childcare when they are on such aggressive expansion growth, and how are they going to address the upcoming K1 children’s curriculum because TLS uses Jolly Phonics, which is different from what they have been learning (Letterland).
On a more personal note, DH and I were very uncomfortable with their high-handed way of managing issues. We used to have direct access to the principle, but there is now only a principle mentor (??) attached to the school because TLS haven’t found one to replace the previous one yet. Plus we found out a lot of inconsistencies between what they tell us (in formal notices and memos), and what we understand from the teachers. Suffice to say that we don’t feel our kids’ education and well-being were put as top priority when TLS shared their plans and visions with us. And we’re not alone with this impressions amongst those who attended the meeting.

hi, has anyone visited the Little Skool House at the park (Pearlbank@Outram) or send their kids to this branch. I need your feedback, thank you.

The teachers there are good and caring, and the helpers there are also very experienced. However as they have recently been taken over by The Little Skoolhouse, there is a lot of uncertainties in terms of management - the last i checked, they have yet found a principle - and teaching curriculum. They previously used Letterland but now the teachers are trained to use Jolly Phonics in compliance with what Little Skoolhouse uses.
Having said that, these issues might be transitional.
