Very funny leh...employ maid to HELP. I told my kids not to call them a 'maid' but 'helper'. But those maids did not make my life easier. Not only that, my hubby and I argued more. Then those maids caused misunderstandings intentionally between my mum and I. But they were stupid because I can clarify things with my mum.
When I had maid then, though I am a SAHM, I closed both eyes. I do not breathe down their necks.
My hubby told me to be understanding and give them time to learn. Fine, I agree. After some 2 months, they got on his nerves :rotflmao: :rotflmao:
I kept quiet bcos if I had opened my mouth, it would be those 3 words, 'I told you.' -
Have posted in my FB:
You employ a helper to ease your load… End up they became part of your load… -

My bro's wife is expecting a bb. He has no choice but to hire a maid. My hair stood on ends just recalling my experience back then. We did our sums...realized a part-timer wont do. At that time, I was expecting #2.Have posted in my FB:

Put it this way, I am not that patient with kids. So, a wailing newborn, a demanding and jealous 4 year old and a stubborn maid drove me up the wall.
Hubby was worried his wife with postnatal blues will slaughter the maid. -
Don’t come here usually but feel tempted to share my experience as a maid employer.
Current maid is a Myan. Cheerful girl, big sized (not fat). With me for two years now. But…hopeless at housework. Not terribly clean eg wash dishes can still have stains on them. My mum took 3 months to train her, and still work in progress.
. Until today my mum will only let her wash and iron clothes, wash dishes, wash toilet and mop floor. The way she handles the knife scared my mum (somehow like she is just 1 chop from mincing her fingers or something) so she don’t have to prepare the materials to cook. She dun nid to cook btw.
Last weekend got big drama while I was not home. My mum finally decided to let her open a can by herself. Don’t know how it happened but she ended up cutting her hand, and badly. Apparently she either used her bare hands to life the cut cap, or used a knife and it slipped. We had to bring her to A&E where she had stitches.
It’s been hair raising but i think it will be the last time my mum get her to open a can. I didn’t bear to scold her (what the point, she is suffering with the cut) but just counseled her to get well and NEVER try to lift can cap with hands or knife (fork or spoon will do nicely).
I’m still going to extend her work permit because she is cheery and doesn’t play mind games. Seriously this is how far down I have come. As long as there is someone to clean and iron can already…wish I can do without maid. But my mum keep saying she is old and can’t clean anymore. So I rather make do with one that I know don’t steal and won’t give black face than face with unknown.
Sorry for long post. Hope this gives some heart to those who may have gone maid less and feeling tired. Physically you may be more tired but I’m sure mentally you could be more at peace. Enuf said…nite all! -
My brother thought of getting a Myanmar maid…indon ones don’t eat pork while Filipino ones are yaya papaya. Hope he is lucky to get one who can help him tide through at least 1 year.

one problem which i remembered my wife had with the maid was… she wears loose tops and often bend down in front of us doing housework…

saw so many maids having picnic everyday in the garden area.
Poor old folks sitting on the wheel chairs left unattended while the maids are chatting away or playing volleyballs/badminton.
Poor kids left unattended riding bicycles, playing in the playground while the maids are having picnic, chatting, etc.
