MW Chua.... reading ur post brought back memories of my dd when she was in P3. Results were I guess quite good in P1 n 2 but in P3, her marks drop especially for maths... went down to low 60s, thats really poor cos her lowest shld be in the 70 range. She was kind of carefree and playful getting her to do sch. h/w was a challenge as she wouldnt listen to me. She wouldnt do assesment books so I gave up buying. I had to sign her to a nearby tution cte just to do sch h/w. 3 times a week. Her marks dropped alot in SA2 and that was a wake up call for all of us. DD was also surprise. I gave her holiday classes during the november holidays cos P4 was not going to be easy. Anyway in p4 she was more serious but still playful but Im glad that she started doing her sch h/w. Her Sa1 marks improved and I guess she felt motivated after seeing better scores and before SA2, i gave her old sch papers to work on for the ist time. Her SA2 score turned out better than SA1. It was in p4 that i notice she beame more competitive and upset whn her results were nt as good as her peers. P5 was a big leap but she manage to maintain her standard.

In p3 , there are still alot of late bloomers. In my dds case I notice she wsnt the same when the school swiched her to another class and she sought of missed her p1,2 classmates. Her new classmates were noisy and some were mischievous so I guess the new crowd did contribute to her change.

Anyway, time flies and primary sch life is ending just completed PSLE. I told dd tat i waited 6 yrs for today to come. ... Not to worry, the school knows how to handle the kids when they get to P5.
Agree - the school knows how to handle the kids at P5 and 6.

Moonee, also wanted to wish your dd all the best as she ventures into a new chapter in her life - S1! If I am not wrong, she received a CO at the DSA? Congrats to her and well done to mummy πŸ˜„

The final hurdle is PSLE. Accelerate at the right timing.

I saw many students punctured at P6 compare when they were in P1-P5 level.
        Agree with this. Must pace...pace...

Thank you so much!! seems like it was only yesterday that dd started P1. Honestly, I was most stressed during p1 n p2 than in p5 n 6.... was like a roller coaster ride but dd knew she was heading for the end...yes, she rcvd 2 COs and that really reduced the stress of going thru S1 posting as shes born in the dragon yr.
All the best to ur dds SA 2 exam!

Thanks chua πŸ˜„ , yr dd is so much like mine thats y I decided to share my experience, dd ws rebellious at that age but looking back at p3 days n now.. most kids become more responsible as they advance to the next level. Yes it sure was a \"roller coaster ride.\" dd felt I was nagging too much and went against me so I deliberately left her to handle the exams on her own. πŸ˜‚ Not to worry ur girl has potential, she made it thru the Ist round GEP, mine fell asleep halfway. I will still be in this forum and will be more then happy to clear any doubts. All the best for the coming SA2. πŸ˜„

                    Hi to all!

I’m new to this forum. I’m currently preparing the proposals for Parent Volunteer (PV) for my girl (b-2008) for RGPS. I have the list of the 16 areas that the school requires assistances of PV from the website - any idea which area will be more popular? or does anyone have any experience in submitting the proposals/doing the PV interview that can share here? Thanks in advance!

I don’t remember being this stressed even when I was applying to university myself. Things we do for our children…

This thread has been quite quiet recently. Guess all of us are busy with SA2 prep πŸ˜“

Any idea if the school has some programmes for P3 girls who cleared round 1 of GEP selection, but eventually not selected for GEP? And also maybe did not manage to get into the 2 E/F class?

                      😒
Morning! Any idea how many in total went through round 1? Anyone with past year statistics of RGPS girls going through round 2?

                      :thankyou:
