Suggestion : Forum features
-
I would like to suggest the following for ease of navigation and more user friendly.
1. Post number display. (like HWZ)
2. Ability to copy Direct url/link to specific posts (not thread/pages). (like HWZ)
3. When replying with quote, the quote should include a direct url link to that that specific post. (like HWZ)
4. Able to set the no. of posts per page? Able to set font size? More post/page means and navigate more easily by scrolling up or down to view the history…
5. When reply with quote, quoted content font size automatic reduce a little, to fit more text into less space so as to display more content within the limited real estate of the display (monitor)
6. Ability to multi-quote. instead of manual copy and paste. -
For example… (purely fictional… "如有雷同,实属巧合。")
In a thread, post XX, A wrote "CKS giving out iPad…"
B: "where"?
A: "here… page YYYY of thread ABCD"
B goes to dig… came across this post "IPhone giveaway"…
B: "its iPhone not iPad"…
A: "Har? saw it is iPad mah…"…
A goes to dig…
A: "Oh… you saw the wrong post lah… the last post is iphone, but 4 post before it is ipad mah…"
B: "Ooooooooooooo".
======================
Wouldn’t it be easier if A can say "refer to Post #WXYZ of thread "ABCD".
Or attach url of that specific post. -
For example… (purely fictional… "如有雷同,实属巧合。" )
In that iPad giveaway thread…
A reply with quote, but delete some content to reduce the clutter, so the post include the quote like
A: "Wah so good… [quote=iPad giveaway …]" (details snipped to reduce clutter)
B: "How to apply?"
"when is closing date"?
"T&C"?
E: "What model"…
A: "Aiyo… you all go see the original post lah".
B: "Where?"
"When?"
"How?"
E: "Har?"
A goes to dig and dig and move a few pages into the history and finally found the post…
A: "It’s at page PQRT of this thread".
B: "Wah… where is the iPad post…"
================
Wouldn’t it be easier if the url is attached, and user just click to jump direct to the target post? -
Any comments?

Have you tried clicking on the little "document" icon at the top of your post on the left of the "Posted: 08 Oct 2012 10:45"? That gives the URL direct to your post.
Not sure what you mean by "post number display". Is that not what is already displayed on your profile against every post?
The rest of your suggestions are good ideas, but require us to look for available mods to implement them.
Thank you. -
(a) More posts per page.
(b) Also 'Print thread' should not be limited to current viewing page.

\"post number\" as in your post is the #5 post in this thread, not the number of posts a user have.. -
