Yes, VB is offered as a normal CCA too.
And Callie, at P4, you will attend a parents workshop where you will hear about foundation class… Dont worry about it now. It is for children who really cannot cope with their studies. -
I notice that so far, the mummies who share have girls in the VB sports class. I wonder how discipline the boys will be. Not easy to get the boys to stick to a strict regime.

Kin kudos to u n DD for even trying the sports journey. Well she has done it before so once she is certified fit she can always join back if she misses it. I am sure you both will do well with such can do spirit

bridesep:
The Head of PE, Mrs Seah was the teacher who called me. According to her, the reasons why I am not invited for the briefing are 1. My girl is not the top few students selected, she was given a place after the top students opted out and she was then the next in the list; 2. They realized that she is already in CO.Callie, you mentioend that your girl is selected for VB but did not receive the letter to attend the briefing? Pls check with the FT as a friend of mine asked the teacher why no letter, reply was that only parents whose kids are offered Sports Class gets the letter. Could your girl have missed it?
Does PCPS offer VB as a CCA?
Actually now I am thinking whether I should gate-crash the briefing... hehehe
Yes Mrs Seah said VB can be chosen as a recreational CCA... but seriously, I don't quite understand what that really means. -
Bridesep… Individual kids perform differently. This yr in p5 I met a dad of a boy / he says Ds does not study much but results r the same as his elder girl. Both school team pcps players. I think we all exp the sudden surge when the boys overtake girls academically once they wake up lol
Callie go ahead n gate crash n fire away till u get all your anwrs. Good luck -
kin:
Callie, I'm not sure, but just a suggestion, since its too early to say anything. Why not let her join sports class and continue CO (after you talk to the respective HODs). On the basis that its unfair to decide at this point of time..?
-
mummyv:
Hahaha... Ok wait I kenna catch and blacklist by PCPS... you all have to rescue me ya?
Callie go ahead n gate crash n fire away till u get all your anwrs. Good luck -
Callie,
Mrs Seah is so straight forward… I think she imply then your girl got no slot?yah, just gate crash first and ask…
Btw, another issue, are you in CM ? yr girl with Janice is it?
mummyv, your child in P5 this yr? stressful hor! I agree, the boys catch up eventually. In fact, my girls class got many smart boys…
bridesept, dont worry, my girl always tell me, the boys that are naughty are the ones who get v good grades…I dont think being a boy puts you in a disadvantage… just a teeny bit less mature than girls only… -

I don't know lah... if there are many parents out there with my mentality then yes, I might be depriving some other kids a place in this so-called niche Sports CCA... but I am just too kiasu to let this chance go, this I admit.
Hey yes, my girl is doing Math at CM and is taught by Janice... How you know?? Are you with them too?
Yes, the top student in my girl's class is also a boy... -
Callie, you mentioned that the top pupils in VB opted out so your girl gets a place. This doesnt gel leh. The letter said that we need to decide by 19 Oct and the letter was only issued on 8 Oct. I wonder how come there are drop outs ?
No harm to attend the briefing as you get to hear directly. It could also help you to decide which CCA to go for. So far, 2 boys who got selected for sports class unanimously said yes, according to my son. One of them is my next block neighbour who have to tick either basketball or VB. Another had to decide between BB, VB or Table Tennis. And you know what the boy said ? Tick all. Ha ha... I think boys prefer play to work. So all will want to go.
Tks all for the encouragement ! I shall attend the briefing and
