      Mummysingle:
Is acs barker or cairnhill better,?

I think you are referring primary school? ACSJ(Canirnhill) and ACSP(Barker); for secondary, ACS Barker and ACS Independent at Dover Road.

                Hi wormy,

Not difficult, depends on your CCA too. Generally, performance arts or uniform group or any cca that provide opportunities for competition or representing school, you get a lot of pts.

                  Hi,

DS has DSA into ACSI IP via academics & managed to get CO. Guess I'm now trying to find out more stuff before submitting his acceptance in ~2 weeks' time. šŸ˜„

Understand students are required to take up 2 CCAs of which one is a uniformed group. As a DSA student via academics, what is DS commitment? Unlike sports, does it mean he will have to join Maths Club or he can join other CCA? DS is still interested to pursue & participate in Maths-related activities, does ACSI place any focus on Maths competitions?

                  Thanks.

All ACS(I) students must take up 2 CCAs of which one is a uniformed group unless they are national-level sportsmen. ACS(I) has no academic societies such as a Math Club. However, they may take on commitments such as joining the Math Olympiad team — the closest that ACS(I) gets to academic societies are competitive academic teams. You might say that ACS(I) places a strong focus on competition of any kind. šŸ™‚

They only have one in May. They also have invitation-only sessions with selected parents. šŸ™‚

Generally, all activities are cleared by Week 2 of December. After all, teachers need a break too. Some activities start in the last week of December in preparation for the new school year. Most teachers are happy to get a total of 3 weeks of holiday each year, contrary to the popular belief that teachers have a lot of leave. šŸ™‚
