Diet is not the only important aspect but it is the basic fundamental basis for good health. I am not a health freak n I used to eat very poorly. I rolled my eyes when people tells me the phrase you r what u eat. But because of my child’s condition, I started reading up on related topics to help him. I don’t do strict diet on my son. Not because I dont want to, but only that I am not capable to do so. It takes alot of hard work, determination, money to do so. On top of it, there will be people who wouldn’t understand n starts questioning. It is worse if family member esp husband who is not supportive. I applaud lavendery that she is doing gfcfsfef for her girl.

Improving diet is different from having strict diet. My lifestyle used to be standard American diet. It was bad. Now I know why we need enzymes, good bacteria, minerals etc in our system. I learnt why I should give organic veg n fruits n preferably not cooked. I learnt why we should avoid white rice, white sugar, white flour. I learnt the effects on oily deep fried food and processed food. My children r still eating these "forbidden food" but in much smaller amount. I replaced their meals with raw food added with spirulina, chlorella, chia seeds, cold pressed oil etc.

Please don’t get me wrong. I respect all parents’ belief n decisions n know what is best for their children. My child is not hf asd. He needs more help besides therapies. Biomedical is one way to improve his condition. I do not know how much it can help but I am willing to try.

Bet dont be confused between diet n biomedical intervention. They e related yet not the same

I must agree its not easy to keep up with such restrictive expensive diet and i kind of impressed that ImMeeMee managed to do it for 1 year+ before she stopped.

As i’m seeing improvements, I chose the biomed route to improve my girl’s overall health and it has to complement with special diet + removing out the allergic food which doesn’t agree with her. Its a lonely tedious journey especially i’m doing it alone. I’m not sure how far i can go to help my girl but i will try my best as she only has me to continue the journey with her.

Sorry to hear that yours isn’t high functioning. Yes, agree with you that diets and biomed are different things. Pardon me for confusing them.

I guess, to each parent it really depends on what is the more pressing issue for them. For u and many parents here is probably in managing the child’s behaviour. For me, my priority issue actually isn’t autism. I think I’ve said before that other than autism, my boy has other medical conditions. Comparing both ailments, the other one weighs higher in my list. He actually has growth hormone deficiency which he can’t grow if he isn’t placed on growth hormones. He need daily injections to help him grow. But with it also lays the risk of cancer. So, autism is the least of my worries. So long as he is healthy, it doesn’t matter if he doesn’t succeed academically or if he doesn’t talk to the kids in school.

My son also hv a hole in the heart but luckily till now everything is ok. But if one day that hole gets too big, he would need surgery.

Already we had people now telling us shld consider surgery to close up this hole etc...

I agree with you, physical health usually outweigh mental health in terms of priority.

My son been acting out a lot lately.. I am getting so stress.
