There’s one more route if your kid doesn’t like to eat. rehab has a feeding clinic. So u can ask to go feeding clinic to address that issue. So they will also refer u to a PD and then to a feeding clinic in rehab plus others that u can mention during your visit to the kkh PD. so main thing is, don’t tell polyclinic dr too much.

I would like to share with an article I found on yahoo page.

        http://sg.news.yahoo.com/blogs/singaporescene/myth-education-063210127.html

I like the part which mention education is \"about the pursuit of excellence. It's about being better than you were yesterday, and not about being better than other people.\".
Hope this will help us to stay motivated to help our kids and not to get stress about whether they are able to do what other kids can do.

but singapore company see papers how?

Wow, it was just so coincidental that today I was just thinking about my boy, and about the educational system in general. Perhaps not so coincidental as another parent just shared with me recently that with kids like my boy who cannot seem to sit still and pay attention, concentrate etc, may be better off to send him to an international school. She suggested I get a doctor's referral stating some reason (whatever it may be) with the aim to get access to international school.

A thought occurred to me that I should not be stressed by the system. Just take it as it comes. The most important thing is my boy, for us to help him fulfill his fullest potential and to maximize his talents. The Chinese saying \"Tian Shen Wo Cai Bi You Yong\" came to my mind. No matter what his shortcomings, there must be some talents. We should focus on his talents and not his shortcomings.

Granted employers look at papers, but if our boy is not academically inclined then how? Recently I was somewhat very interested in the U.S show \"X-factor\" and saw the Groups going to the judges' home to showcase their talents. There were raw rap artists from the worst part of town (high crime rate and deaths etc) yet they pursued their dreams and made it to international TV.

As parents, I feel we really should have a broad-mind to accept our kids as they are and try our best to help them to their fullest potential. It start with us parents first, to change our mindset, and not think too poorly of our kids, or to be pessimistic of their future in the current environment etc.

To give up is not a choice and totally unacceptable to me. To give up when they are still so young is even more unacceptable. There are many many years ahead of our young ones. Let us not give up or be paralyzed by fear of the unknown future.

Just my thoughts for this evening....

Poly clinic: 1) refer CDC PD - CDC ST/OT/Eipic

              2) refer general PD for other ailments - rehab ST/OT
Thanks for information. I have gone past the polyclinic stage, and my daugher has no other medical conditions.

The immediate need now is to clear her IQ assessment for school placement options. The rest will take it one step at a time and see how.

Helplessmum, look at the positive things:

                      1. He can play songs after listening to them once.
                      2. He is going to graduate soon.
                      3. He can draw very well, and could express himself through his drawings (did you see the one that he drew on 'Mother' with some descriptions?)
                      4. He has a supportive mother who has been supporting him for the past 20 years. She said she will never give up.
                      5. The courage of his mother to accept media interviews and bring this into the open with the hope that more people are aware of the condition.

If you have a chance to go Pathlight, take a look at the walls that are full of all sorts of drawings and articulations by their students. I am always very touched whenever I see these exhibits by how they express themselves in alternative ways.

Im just wondering, How come you've to go through the polyclinic route again? Do you not have an open case with kkh?
