lol. it never cross my mind that certain topics are upper block. i thought those that we dont know how to do is because sch didn’t teach. so we googled and looked for answers ourselves.

Yea, so at times, it's not because our DC cannot do the questions, but rather, they've not been taught.

I blame it on the Teach less Learn more. I seriously don’t think it works for children in schools which stress on academic performances at the end of the day, and at least not for primary level when they are not matured to source for additional and external resources on their own.
