juz curious, any diff in the uniform of the jr yrs vs the snr yrs in NJC?

Yes. JH1/2 wear shorts for boys and shorts and skirts are a darker shade of grey. Shirt/blouse also diff, no pockets. JH3 onwards wear the traditional NJ uniform.

checked with my dd, she heard 30 COs offered this yr dsa so base on her estimation, could be 50 foreign students, So total 80

Do they offer foreign students at Year 1? I haven't heard about that before. Usually foreign scholars are taken in only at year 3.

I asked dd n she said she obtained info frm her clasmate and another parent whose dd recved CO, could be speculation.

Do you know what does NJC look for in DSA (more details on top of the ones described in the webpage)?

in terms of CCA, during interview, etc what do they look for?

The webpage states very clearly what they require.. they offer a broadbase curriculum so looking for someone holisitic in nature, able to cope and adapt... leadership qualities and independent.

We went for the school tour last week . My dh very happy about the curriculum offer by NJC. He said that he knows my girl will enjoy her schooldays there .

I hope so but I’m worry for some some subjects like critical thinking which I really catch no ball and wonder how to help her .

I went too, dh also felt the same and feel that they offer a better programme than the normal sec schs. He feels their curriculum is more suited for dd. About critical thinking, I hv no idea but dont think its something that can be taught, must ask dd. šŸ˜‚
Are u applying under sec1 posting?

                    Think you worry too much.

The teachers will teach the necessary.

Does anyone know any drop out cases in NJC ? I read in another thread that even students scoring 250 plus can't make it in IP?

Haven't even started yet. Have confidence in your child lah. Let the teachers do the teaching and the child do the learning. If your child does his/her work consistently, should be ok lor. And there is no way you can continue to be teaching your child everything like in primary school. Even if you are a teacher, there is no way for you to know everything. Don't worry lah. My DS is coping fine even though his PSLE not so good. In fact some of those with better PSLE results are not doing as well as him now. PSLE score alone does not determine the ability of the child to cope.
