Thanks mashy! i think my boy is less serious when compare to both asd boys in the show. but my boy does show similar symptons like hanging out at lift landing when reach home. sometimes really got to drag him back. but seriously we dunno why he dun want to come back. too facinated with the lifts or dun want to go home cos he still wanna go out??

the mummies in the shows are as inspiring. too bad i cant give up my job just like them, which makes me guilty, but i totally understand the same worries and feel the happiness they hv for their son.

less serious i mean in terms of speech and social interaction as compare to the boys. but my son cant draw like the 23 yr old as he has weak fine motor skills.

i could see the pride and joy in the mother’s eyes when her son played piano.

it really is so moving and somehow it makes me feel hopeful.

my boy got good memory and can read. what things can i do to futher develop this strength?

My friend nt kid who is 2yo already understand how lift works.
She can go down herself , then her mum ask how u do it. She say u press 1 then u count from the screen then reach 1 door open u go out…

Mashy my son also still clumsy… I think also part of weak muscle in certain area or I think because not yet aware of body movements or poor in body conditions or poor in judging space…

Write some where some ASD they do not know how to
Judge distance . Like the things is 2steps away but they may judge ask 1 step away . Things like this …

N co ordination cuz I think they are born to do things one at the time but body movements needs us to do few things at one time. Like walk n talk n see surrounding …
These too require co ordination of brain maj

Re judging distance: it's true in my boy's case. I'd call it reckless confidence!

I train my boy's coordination and use of his brain through piano...it's a slow and often weepy process but I see results. Point is, he is very unmotivated unless it's drawing. I can't determine if it's an ASD characteristic or his attitude problem...whatever...we need to fix this!
double e,

kkh physcologist at St Andrew say \"im now labeling your son\" \"this is what im doing\"

when i ask, can dont lebal my son just yet...

                  my son already being verdicted.

Why did you go to see the psychologist unless you wanted a diagnosis? A diagnosis would mean having a label. If you don't want the label, you can still ignore it. Don't use it on your son, don't tell anyone about it, don't assume that he will be the 'typical' case. Just deal with the issues. I didn't get my daughter diagnosed and so she didn't get a label, but I still worked on various issues with her. If I needed other people's help, I would just describe the symptoms - she's introverted, she doesn't converse well, she daydreams a lot, she's not well-coordinated etc. Once when she was having a hard time with a pushy PE teacher, I got a pd neurologist to write a letter stating that she was poorly co-ordinated with weak muscle development (he said if I wanted a definitive diagnosis of 'dyspraxia', she would need more tests, but we said the letter was good enough) which allowed her to continue PE lessons without the pressure. Just my experience.

Do autistic kids have poor muscle development? I noticed that my son is very uncoordinated. When I see him practise his tkd moves, I wanna shake head. It's terrible. When he runs during sports day (all the kids in class had to participate), he ran like a toddler.
My boy is very agile in terms of gross motor skills like running and climbing...he dances like he has two left feet though :rotflmao:
But his fine motor skills is not quite good...like handwriting and buttoning...

Mine can climb very well. He can flip himself upside down with just a side bar in the lift. Altho I thought he could run fast, when I saw him running with his peers, he looked like a toddler. U know, their running techniques are different. My boy's handwriting is atrocious. When squeezing toothpaste, he uses his palms instead of fingers. He knows his fingers are weak and has been substituting it with his palms which are effective all the time.

Perhaps start a library? My boy also has good memory and can read very well from young. As he progressed, we just gave him more and more books. Coz his interest is in Science, we also got a lot of that for him. Think that raised quite a few IQ points for him. 😛 they test general knowledge in the IQ test.

He stopped reading his science books for a while when I introduced Geronimo Stilton and Roald Dahl to him. Wanted him to read some fiction books to improve his imagination and creativity. I think it also help him socially coz some of his friends are also reading that now. Now he's back to Science books. And I love to see how smart he is. Hahaha. I think it's a confidence booster for both of us.
