Hi Ninjago,
We did not buy any art bag for my DS1 when he was P1. Bought for him one from the school bookshop this year. The student keep their art work and crayon and drawing board in the art bag for easy storage. You can use your own art bag if you want.
For textbooks, you can buy from school bookstore or Popular. But exercise books and folders can only get from school bookstore. I normally wait till Dec only get the books and uniform as somehow the crowd is small so no need to wait long.
The black shoes sold at the school is at reasonable price and quite durable. DS1 has his for close to two years now. Good to get more than one pair so can be worn on alternate day. -
Astee many thanks for your reply:)

Will the school let the parents know which class yr child is in when you fill in the form? I could not make it on the assigned day and the staff said to fill in on the orientation day itself.

Hi Beauty79,
If there is no change of process, the school will be sending the documents which will include the class and house that you child has been posted to, prior to orientation day. So on the orientation day itself, you will know which class to assemble your child to in the hall.
After the assembly, the form teachers will bring the kiddos to their future classroom with their classmates, while the parents remain in the hall for the talks. When the talks end, you will be able to go to your child's classroom to sign him/her out. Then you can proceed to buy uniforms/books etcs.
Hopefully there are no changes to the processes, if there are any, you guys will be a good lead to share with future newbies to the forum.
Happy Graduation Ceremony to the PCF kiddos tomorrow at TGPS. Saw that GOH is PM Lee, such an honor and i know the kiddos will put up their best performance for their parents and teachers!!beauty79:

Hi Beauty,
Orientation Program starts at 9am. So you go earlier to collect child name tag n forms. Must have bank acct number for Giro appln but i guess can submit to office on any other days. The assigned class is on the name tag and the child will wear it on that day.
On orientation day, bookshop open till 12pm only and uniform sales till 3pm.
By the way, my DS is in 1Bravery. Confirmed not according to registration numbers as I was over reg number 200 when registering - maybe numbered 1 to 8 and all the 1s go to class A, etc etc. Anyone else? -
Hi Ninjago,
Thanks for sharing.
Fyi, my son started in 1Bravery too, 2 years ago and he was very lucky to have a very kind and loving FT.
This year, the whole class en-bloc to 2B and there was a change in his FT, whom is still kind and loving with an extra factor - Strictness. To be honest - I LOVE it....
Regards,

Actually I can't wait to know what class she goes in as I am anxious to know if she happens to be in the same class as her k2 friends. Guess I have to wait until 7 November.Hi Beauty,

:salute: Hello everyone,
I'm back here to yak after my busy schedules and more to come next  !
DH and I went to fill up the forms last Fri. DD will be in 1Faith (reg no. slightly over 100), House: TBC.
We were told:
1) books can order online and either pick up later or pay $9.80 for delivery
2) we can go to Toa Payoh to order the uniforms, anytime any day during their business hours
3) there will be 2 PE sessions a week BUT there will be enrichment class that require to wear PE attire
Beauty79, if you can, try to fill the forms before 7th as I could foresee the chaos on that day!
I'm excited for DD :boogie:
