          Hi DonaldGoh,

          Welcome! ๐Ÿ™‚

Do u mean prepare for the Orientation? Heard that u need to prepare some cash if u intend to get uniforms and textbooks on that day. The bus vendor will also be there if you require school bus service. Other than that will be filling up of forms.

If you are referring to preparation for P1, then you may want to seek Zeemimi's advice or advise from experienced mummies and daddies here coz I'm also a first time mummy with kid going to P1 next yr, so not really know what to expect. ๐Ÿ™‚

Uniform can go toa payoh to buy if you donโ€™t want to queue up. You can go anytime if you know which house your child will be in. Last year we queue up to take size, didnโ€™t get the uniform that day.

Textbook I think is preorder, collect another day. Where is orientation held? Current site or new site?

              Hi Zeemimi,

I have yet to receive letter from the school but I presume it will be at current site, coz the new site seem not to be in used when I passed by last week.

Gathered from the school website, there will be an Orientation at the new site on 27/12.

                  Hi raykyawthu,

                  P1 Orientation is on 10/11.

There is another Orientation held for the current students on 27/12 (tentative date), for them to familiarise with the school at the holding site.

                        mum2girls:
I agree with what Zeemimi comments on KCPPS. In fact, there are students graduated from KCPPS went to St Nic, RI, Catholic too. The school may not produced top scholar in Singapore that obtained 280 and above for the PSLE but that does not necessary mean that the school did not produce good students.

As for the bus arrangement. I personally do not think that by getting the staffs give up the parking lots will help to solve the problem. School staffs also play a very important role in the school, I don't think it is fair to them either. In the first place, why allocate a small holding school for KCPPS if the school premise cannot cater for that number of students? Hope the school will succeed in talking and working with the respective government agencies on the arrangement. School transport vendor should also help to find a better spot for students to alight. I think there is a side road with lower traffic near the school main entrance.

To conclude, my kids are happy in school most of the time and they like the teachers there though the teachers can be very strict to them. In terms of homework, sometimes my kids have lots of homeworks to do but so far they didn't complain about it. Stress level, still manageable as my kids do not have many enrichment classes and we do not give them extra works to do. So not stressful for the kids and ourselves even if they have many homeworks to do at times and not forgetting about their cca activities.
