Putting the whole cohort in a National exam + T-score + streaming @ 12yo = high stress. There is no 2 ways about it. This stress is reflected in TFR. To reduce stress, one of these cow must be slaughtered. With these 3 cows, the system is made with an auto stress increaser within. When the whole nation is pitted against one another , you think there will be an end point to the increase in competition and stress?

er...should not be '+' right? Should be '->'...so there is actually only 1 cow!! 😆

If PSLE stress is to be reduced, i suggest to set separate papers for Gifted stream. Since GEP has own stream, mainstream students cannot possibly match up to them.

I only realized GEP and mainstream students sit for same PSLE
If there are separate questions, then setters can set challenging ones for GEP and mainstream kids do not have to face such intense stress.
sorry ya janet... it may not be actually feasible as that will create another form of banding... GEP and non GEP students.. though GEP students are just the minority... but they will still be considered a higher level than our average kids...

dunno if there will be another problem arising from there...

Can. As parents we just have to accept that we can't live their lives for them.

                子孙自有子孙福

Yeah, sure. Easier said than done.
