I'm already under subsidized class. I went thru Polyclinic to ask for referral letter to see CDU at KKH when the school principle suspect my girl is autistic. So when social worker refer me to EIPIC, I believed I am under subsidized category.

Rainbow too far away from AMK leh 😞
      Lavendery,

Go back polyclinic again.. say your daughter speech delay.. Asked if can go rehab see speech therapist for assessment or not.

Then if they want to refer you to CDU, u tell them no, u already with EIPIC and there is no resident speech therapist.. Thats why you need to go KKH Rehab. Just tell them the truth. I dun think the polyclinic nurse knows what is the difference.

U can try to ask for the KKH Rehab, somehow the records there are not linked to KKH's CDU, u can give it a try, they may not find out.

Yup, KKH CDU operated on their own. Their files not linked to the rest of KKH. My son is in EIPIC and he is also seeing KKH rehab SLT. Can de, just try.

I'm presently under subsidized patient under KKH cos my girl has some health problem and hence I was referred by Polyclinic to KKH to do more blood tests on her.

As my girl couldn't answer the simple open questions when the KKH PD causally asked her, the KKH PD asked me if she is having some sort of development delays? I replied back that she is having speech delay and motor skill delays.

Wondering if I can make use of the opportunity to ask the KKH PD to send my girl for speech and occupational at KKH during the next follow up
Appt? But my girl is at ARC now, will they find out and reject my request? Its very expensive to keep up with the monthly expenses at ARC and private speech therapy base on my salary.
Can! Then u don't need to go back polyclinic for referal. U just ask the kkh Pd to write referral for rehab ST and OT. That's how I got around in KKH. 😛 I kept asking for referrals from the kkh PD. my boy is also both at kkh CDU and kkh rehab.

              lavendery,

Can I asked how much do you pay for your EIPIC at ARC?
How many times per week? 3 hours?
Do you need to be in the session with your child?

Last time they say those in ARC will have priority to pathlight. Not too sure if it still is for now.

Rainbow shld have direct entry into their rainbow school.

But I think ARC no longer affiliated to pathlight if I am not wrong. All go through the same test required in order to enter into pathlight.

Helplessmum, you son so mild and smart, dun think he need to go pathlight ba,

Thanks a lot. I go ask the KKH PD for referral on the next upcoming follow up appt. CDU is tie to EIPIC in a way. Once the kid start EIPIC, all the therapies in CDU will automatically stop.

Seriously ARC do not have ST and OT, why are they stopping ST and OT at CDU, it's unfair.

I'm paying $920.40 per mth at ARC. This amt is still payable even during school holiday 😞 I've talked to the person in charge in ARC if I can apply for mean test cos I'm paying all alone by myself but I got rejected cos they take into consideration of both couples earning. Seem to me like everything is about money in ARC.

It's 4 times per week. Per day is 1.5hrs. Caregiver / parents need to be present at least once per week cos the ARC teacher will update you on what are the things they taught the kid for the week and how well the kid fare.

I also asked the same question to the ARC teacher if kids in ARC are given higher priority to enter Pathlight? The answer I got was the kids in ARC will get first priority in filling up the forms and get interviewed by Pathlight as compared to other kids. But for admission, the ARC teacher said she is not that sure.

Hi helplessmum3, sorry I am not very convenience to type too long msg…

Yes, my son has same problem when he was 3-4, even doesnt want to speak single word. He has no eye contact at all even his father was stepping in when coming back from work. Example, his father called him, "hello boy, papa is coming back" but he just continue to play, totally ignore or he never has any reaction… sorry, if I write wrong. Anything he wants, he just use his finger to point but no talk until about 4+. He likes to stare at the spinning objects especially fan and car wheel, he could keep looking at the spining wheel for more than 30mins and he keep turning the wheel (toy car)repeat and repeat, he ignore what happen to his surrounding. There were lot of things make me upset during these years, I hope I have time to share all about my son story with you all… maybe I can ask my hb to help me write in English. Give me a week, I will be here again.

                        lavendery,

Thanks for sharing. Its really quite expensive. All these EIPIC even though is govt funded still its very costly. I asked because last time I was considering ARC too. But in the end chosen Metta Preschool cos its nearer to me.

                        CJ Lim,

Thanks for sharing your story… so glad that your boy is doing well. My hb and myself often wonder what my son will be when he grows up. We are still pinning hope on him. Be it a chef, baker or even an office boy, we will be proud of him.
