Kinderland

so it seems that Kinderland Marine Parade is a better ooptions afterall? versus Schoohouse by the Bay
-
sy, thanks for sharing with us.
after much thots, i think i prefer to put my girl to nursery (half-day programme) rather than child care programme.
hmm... what about mmi at kee sun and zoophonics tampines?? any comments of these 2 schools?
ChiefKiasu, your kid used to attend kinderland too right? how is it?
thanks all for your valuable feedback. -
hi chiefkaisu,
ya,i am also very surprised when it hit me,on that day,was still before 530pm,there was still alot of teachers inside, but they choose to put my girl alone in the recep sofa.
Made a complaint to the boss, she also said the same thing, they won't allow a child to be left alone. And said she will investigate. Excuse come back was teacher at that time bring a child to toilet. And if we wish to withdraw, they are fine with it as their waiting list is very long  .
See,so irresponsible answer. When I confronted teacher there on that day, teacher did not mention that got bring child to toilet, only said she stand in btw door.
Parent left to no choice but to buy their reason if want to continue in their childcare. They give me the impression that they are in command if want to put there.
Sigh,I am also attracted by the clean and large environment in the first place. But think kind of quality for care and concern is more impt after this experience.
As for curriculum, for my girl in playgroup they got 2 group,my girl initially joined is under small class, which can learn more as they sit down to art and craft and play montessori material. After few wks, they put her at big group which kids alway sit around with other kids crying.
I asked the incharge, she said got to wait for vacancy at small group and also got to see my girl ready to change anot then can swap. Is like forever waiting if small group always full. my girl is ready as she during full day childcare, she can do montessori material.but just that in morn, their class is bigger as alot of child on half day prog.
Btw,since you visited the centre, why you are not tempted by the clean and large env and curriculum?
swpf, I also felt 3hrs prog is better if got caregiver at home to do the pick up. -

I was, but I was also curious about what Kinderland Academy had to offer, given their affiliation with Crestar. I chose Kinderland over MMI, and after 6 months, moved my daughter to Schoolhouse by the Bay. -
hi ChiefKiasu,
anything wrong with kinderland?
btw which kinderland branch did your child attend?[/code] -
hi carolsoh, i actually made a few visits to the place cos i was also considering it
the facility looks quite complete, as well as the programmes too. i was told that they incorporated piano lessons from K1 onwards. the gals can go for ballet class too.
anyway, the problem is that u need to be on waiting list cos its another very popular choice among the parents in cck -
Hello
The programmes are good and teachers friendly. You need to pay for ballet. Music, only pay for the instruments and book. Food wise, not so good. Air quality also no good. Be prepared that your child keeps falling sick. -
Hello
The centre is fully air con. In the morning, parents of K1/K2 kids would drop them in the kitchen while younger kids in another room. Usually you would see sneezing, coughing amongst the younger children. Afternoon nap time, they also sleep side by side. So children take turns to fall sick. At first, fever medicine is not allowed to bring in (ie children having fever are not allowed to come). Subsequently, antibiotics also.
I feel that the centre should not be air con. I also feel there are irresponsible parents bringing children when they are having thick green mucus flowing from their nose and coughing with phelgm.
My son was with them for 2 yrs and after a month, kept falling sick twice a month. Practically absence for half a month. Last July withdrew and put in kindergarten.
Food is all mixed together. I don’t think is nutritious. It is not an issue of blend vs tasty.
Other than above, their programmes are very good.
If you stay within walking distance and have someone at home and still want to enrol in this centre, perhaps better to send your child to the centre at 9.30 then back home for lunch & nap. After that bring your child again to the centre at 3.45pm and pick up at 5.30pm. In this way, you can limit the infection. -
Hello
You don’t have to worry about teachers & their teachings. They are all very nice. You can see independence in your child after a month.
Though the management is the same with Kinderland Kindergarten at Sunshine Place, the one at Sunshine Place has a lot of complains about teachers. -
Hello
So far in CCK, Cambridge, Creativeland and Agape are non air con.
Before Cambridge, there has been many change of owners. Last time when I visited it, the children were put in front of TV and taken care by aunties until teachers arrive. So for 2 hours, they sit in front of TV which I don’t like.
Creativeland has a lot of children. Phone calls are unanswered. Places look cramped. Reception area small & dirty.
Can’t comment much on Agape.
Wharton Academy also air con. And expensive.
