SAHMs do not seem to be viewed in positive light...or should i say never ?

i am no big cook or flat is spanking clean (ironically cleaner without a maid)...after son's last PSLE paper, I was asked whether I am going back to work :scratchhead: My answer is no...bcos I enjoy being around for my kids, though my blood pressure shoots up. I have called the shots at home for 13 years...couldn't possibly give that up. Even my kids call me the QUEEN of the house...I love it :please:
There is always this hint/thoughts among those working folks. Well, it seems that they can't imagine how Sahms can be doing a lot more then them (ftwps) when they also need to juggle their career and home. Being a sago is seriously not for everyone. I for one, can't be a Sahm. I tried it for a short while, 9 months, and realized that I just couldn't. Part time sahm + part time working ok, but sahp? I got nothing except :salute: for them, especially those with multiple kids :udawoman: :udaman:

            buds,

Maybe you start a new thread or revive the thread on no tuition for PSLE. The response might be better.

I'm here cheering you on :rahrah: becos I want to achieve no tuition too πŸ˜‰ I'm only aiming 230s T-score, wonder is it achievable without tuition? πŸ˜‚
If u are only aiming for 230s T- score, I think it is achievable even without tuition. Just make sure tt the child does not have a particular weak subject, say, low 60, to pull the t score down. Just my view. πŸ™‚

It really depends on your child's ability.

Yup, there's that too. So see how it goes. πŸ˜„

i want to offer alternative view.
don't just aim for 230s T-score. list down the preferred schools around your area or just the preferred school. if there is a preferred school that takes in 234 or 236 that is just within a few stops or walking distance, would u want to risk getting only 232, 230? 232 also 230s.... so mentally you should have the backup plan for 220s school too. or if your preferred schools are 220s school then personally aim for 230s without tuition - certainly doable.

                  2 cents.

I have some schools in mind that I won't lose sleep over if dd1 is studying there.

So now laying the groundwork on dd1's academic and keeping an eye on the COP of the lists of schools that I have shortlisted πŸ˜„

Another alternative view: make sure your child really understands the materials and concepts, work on getting her to love learning (or at least not to dislike it), and don't focus too much on exam techniques and 'this is the model answer' until just before each exam. Then see how well you think she will do and shortlist the schools from there.[/quote]Thanks πŸ˜„

Yup, working on mistakes that she made. I have a record bk for each subject. I will record the mistakes and revise the concept and review with her. Sometimes it's becos she need time to understand the concept fully and sometimes it's becos I managed to find a better way to explain to her.

Still finding my way to ensure that she will con't to want to learn πŸ˜„
