Hi Ninjago,
For my son's MT lesson, the teacher uses it and even had the child to initial their names on the card so that they will not misplace it.
You can check with any other P1 parents whom may have hand-me-down cards..then you don't need to spend the S$8...i am afraid mine is too \"messey\" stage now, so i won't even dare to pay-it-forward.
Cheers,

Hi Rejoice / Astee,
Can check with you if the chinese character cards are used in class or only for home revision usage? Or varies with Chinese teacher's teaching style?
Was contemplating of not buying as I use more of texts and don use much of flash cards really. Can spend the $8 on a proper chinese assessment book instead....
Thanks for sharing  -
I will visit Berries in Bishan as well as the one in Amk Hub. Heard from friend that the one in Amk Hub is very classroom style and my friend’s kid was turned off as it’s just an extension of school teaching. I am thinking more drama drama or play play kind to stir interest in my DD as she is repulsive towards reading CL storybooks and current K2 teacher says her 汉语拼音 is weak too as she shows little interest. Haiz… I visit both first then see how.

hi parents,
Does any of you have exerience sending your kids to Anandas After School Care in AMK BLK 336? I intend to send my DD there next year and would like to gather some review. -
Speaking of MT, last night just helped DS revised his Chinese for SA2. Out of 60words spelling list, he only knows about 40, faint…oh well, partly our fault as we don’t speak Chinese often at home. I try to get Chinese story books from library and read to them at night. Yes, still need to read to them though Ds1 already P2. So far they are quite interested to it since have mom does the reading. I just hope one day they will read themselves. But this is at least a good start and they will ask for Chinese books when we go library :-). I think if we use Chinese often and expose them to more Chinese, they will eventually pick up the language.

Hi rejoice,
You mean there was a spelling list?? Oops, my DS didn't show us...surely die liao... :nailbite:
I feel that MT interest need to be build up slowly and agreed that we need the environment to engage them. Same as you, we speak mainly English at home, but i will use chinese with them as and when the opportunity arises. Some families even practise a Speak Mandarin Day in a week.
Both my children are with Tien Hsien and they had benefitted much from the lessons, especially my elder girl. She is building up her confidence level and is enjoying the lesson very much.
Hope i don't get surprise from my DS MT results.
Cheers,

Hi Astee,
The sheng Zhi piao is at the back of the text book. There are words to recognized and read and words to write. I often forget about it too. Hahaha. -
Can I check if it’s sufficient to revise materials covered in school for MT tevision? Does this school’s tests comes up with never seen before words or test items to stretch the pupils?
-
Hi Beauty,
Good question. I never really check. But I think should be sufficient. If something comes out that is not covered in class, DS sure will complaint about it to me :-). For this SA2, I did not get DS to do other revision except for the Sheng Zhi biao at the back of the textbook. And he did just fine for it. Hope this helps. -
Hi Astee,
Have you heard of the 10th anniversary dinner for TGPS on 17 Nov? Just wonder if there is any celebration at school during the daytime. Thanks -
Hi Rejoice,
According to school notice - school is officially closed on 16 Nov for Prize Giving day and 17 Nov for 10th Anniversary celebration. So there are no celebration or lessons during the daytime.
Cheers,
