DPM talk nia... Y he didn't make any changes when he was Education minister? 🦆

Puzzling indeed. Ed Min says change. 1 MP propose kill PSLE. Then PM says no change. Now DPM appears. And Ed Min disappear?

Taking turns to talk and then MIA. Those who get blasted disappear and then another comes in to pacify. Not synchronizing well.

Maybe sending one person after another to say a few words to test waters. Say something, feelers gather info. Send another out, wait for ground response. The important man working furiously behind the scene, with hid huge team, collating data. :rotflmao:

My ex GM operated like that. Get his secretary to leak some unpopular HR practices, let us digest and get used to the usually bad ideas, then he will tweak a little before formal announcement.

          What's the point?
It's OCBC giving PSLE leave, not MOE or prime minister office.
One rubbishes it, the other say fine grain differentiation needs to be looked into, then supported by another one about PSLE not fair running ground. Which is which? PSLE is here to stay. Period.
          Govt wants finest grain.

PSLE is here to stay. Reporting and calculation of results is up in the air. But I wouldn’t hold my breath. The top secondary schools will still require the equivalent of 4 A*****s or whatever even if they do away with the T-score.

In the end, only the top 20% or so of each cohort can get into our local universities. And only the top 1-2% or so can get into popular courses like medicine and law where the money is perceived to be.

Take away banding and whatever, ultimately still the same lah. If don't have 260 and above, can only dream.

If everyone starts to get 4A******s... Then we'll be back to fine graining process.

If systems/policies/mindsets so easy to change... World peace Liao... :xedfingers:

Stock market more straightforward... Every now and then just have correction... And back to square one.

No need to talk…what’s there to talk?

Minister with kids in p6 will have their ways to coach…nothing to discuss. Whether they take a year off or not, that is unnecessary for us to know.
If simplify PSLE, more get stars, then there will be more fine grain differentiation like what you mentioned.
