Hi mummies, I m a newcomer here. Hv a daughter 19mths old and i m hoping to send her to a playgroup in Jan next yr, if possible. Read the comments posted by some mummies here n I note that Summer Montessori seem to hv good feedbacks.
Can some mummies help me cuz I really hv no idea how to go abt it to find a gd school for my girl eg. if I pay a visit to Summer exactly wat shall I be looking out for n wat sort of questions shld I ask the teachers/principal? Btw, I m hoping to let her attend 2/3 times a wk for the start, any idea how much is the fees?
Also, beside Summer any other gd school that I can check it out? MMI?But i heard must be accompany by an adult? Really appreciate for other mummies' assistance cuz my hubby dun bother n just leave everything for me to do research and decide. :thankyou: -
hi,
for your daughter’s age, MMI at JW st 51 would be accompanied (playgroup), yes. MMI at JW swim complex is a childcare.
Summer has 3x a week only. no 2x a week. fees now are $220 for 3x a week but they will raise it after it moves to the new premise at Tmn Jurong due to increase in hours. I’m not too sure of the new fees.
If you visit any school, the Qs you ask should be similar. It may vary depending on what you think is important, but most people ask some of these following Qs:
- timing, duration, fees, transport
- typical timetable for a week/ session
- what is the curriculum for the different subjects taught
- student- teacher ratio
- programmes offered (art, music, cookery, etc etc)
- teacher qualifications
- facilities/ materials/ physical structure of the school
- first week/ day settling process -
Hi, thank you so much for ur reply. Will drop them an email n see how it goes. Is ur kid currently studying in Summer? How do u find it? Btw, wat do u think of Star Tots, Apple Tree n Just kids? I m okay if the school is not a Montessori cuz I maybe working again, my inlaw will be helping me to look after my girl n therefore I just want to find a gd school that is convenient for her to bring n fetch my girl around.
Just saw the Star Tots’ website, it stated the group size is 7 to 16 students per class with only 1 teacher! Won’t that be too many kids for 1 teacher!?!? -
yes my kid is still with Summer.

i'm not sure of the others you mentioned as i have not visited them before. -
Hihi!
My boy is 22 months. I am starting to look for classes for him to attend. Seen a lot of review about summer montessori but I can’t seem to view the page, can anyone give details to the location of the sch?
I am thinking of zoophonics at JW also. Interested in carpe diem at JW too… He is currently not attending any childcare or playgroup.
TIA! -
hi hi,
Does anyone has Summer Montessori website? I tried searching but couldnt locate it.
:thankyou: -
Hi,
Their previous website has been hacked so the new one is http://montesummer.blogspot.sg/ -
Thank you so much, Pinkitty!! Is your child with Summer Monte?

Dear all,
I called up the school and spoke with a lady over the phone. Actually, I wanted to pop by the school but she mentioned that they are in the midst of moving thus it is not a good time to view the school.
Currently, the morning slot is full, only let the afternoon session. Dilemma … … -
Yes… My son is now with Summer and my daughter will be joining the Sat class next yr
