DD’s PD says generally girls stop growing taller within 3 yrs from the start of their menses. The most aggressive growth spurt will be within the year of their 1st menses, thereafter the growth will slow.

Verykiasumummy, I am super impressed!! Thanks for compiling and sharing. I will sticky note the list.

Can just imagine, if many follow your list, on certain days old cucumber sold out, on other days shark melon sold out. :rotflmao: Ntuc, SS, Cold Storage & wet market better take note of demand on those days.

And if you want to get the max growth, pump in nutrition once the menses starts. The body will adsorb/react most during those years.

Milk, eggs, meat, bird nest whatever.. eat well during those years does more towards growth than any other times..

That's what happened to my girls. They had their first period at 11yo, and grew rapidly for about 2 yrs. I had the same experience when I was their age. We're now working on convincing them that height isn't that important!

I grew 1 inch at 20 years. I was already renting an apartment and when I moved in, the kitchen cabinet could happen above me head. When I loved it, it would hit my head.

But well... as DH likes to say to me (with a pitying look in his eyes) \"Good things come in small packages.\"

I am keeping my fingers crossed that DD won’t be getting her menses so soon. She is already starting to show signs of puberty and she is standing only at 133cm. DH and I are also not tall so if she can hit 1.6m, we will be ecstatic. haha.

Hmmm....at P5, my gal is 150cm.....but her weight is a whopping 48+kg already. I have to try very hard to control her food intake. If still let her eat all the ho-liao & nutritious food, I dunno which side will she expand leh. :scared: And to think that she is actually a Dec gal (actually, I 'extracted' her out early by 1 year)..... 😓 😓

For the past 1 month, we had lunch outside on Sunday...dinner is a soup and rice...kids cannot tolerate 2 meals outside as they will be drinking lots of water to quench thirst. I do not know what they eat during recess in school but cannot be controlling too much. They are sick of sandwich, pau and biscuit. Buying own food during recess is a luxury and some independence for them. But I have explained the importance of plain water.

During holidays, we eat fast food almost every Sunday. Thinking of what soup to boil everyday is a headache.
There are also plenty of other healthy things they can eat apart from soup. If you don't have time, what about pasta with a tomato sauce. Healthy and easy to cook. If they've eaten a full meal outside, you can just stir-fry some noodles with veggie and a bit of chicken/pork and you're done.
