MY KKH report was done by a indonesia chinese psychologist.


Mine was good as well. Report type out nicely, she even took down my email address and send materials to me for me to help my son.

I think it all boils down to luck.

No, it’s not the one you mentioned. I remembered her name is in dialect and she has very strong Malaysian accent. Crap, I need to go find where I put the psychologist report.

I didn’t expect her to think my girl is K1. Cos I remembered during the assessment day, i told her my girl was year end baby and she’s 3yrs++, presently studying in PCF nursery. She’s presently academically advanced compared to her peers, starts to read when she two yrs old, hence it’s a super red flag.

When I turned up for the 2nd appointment with her for my girl’s psychologist review which was 1mth later after the assessment appointment, I thought the report will be there for me. However on the table, there’s only a rough A4 paper which resembled the previously scribbled observants notes during the assessment interview. Then she told me the report will only be out by 1 week after my review with her. End up, it turn up to be another 5 weeks of waiting for the psychologist report.

So I got no idea if she is assessing my girl as K1 kid or or nursery kid or based on her actual age (3yrs++). She is turning 4yrs old by end of Dec.

as usually advise is PECS la, OT la. SLT & etc. what else they can advise.

weakness will be same too la, interaction la. communications la. social la… what else?

strenght same too la. good memory la, very very genetric la. they see kids everyday de…

just like u go salon. color hair, cut hair, wat advise , protec hair protect scarp.

Mine is by Dr soong chi mei, senior psychologist. U can find out who from the report.

Looks like having the ability to read at a very young age is not exactly a good sign after all. Many kids here can read from very young age and diagnosed with ASD. But well, being able to read is better than not able to. I think the challenge is getting them to understand what they are reading and generalize the knowledge for daily use.


Apart from the many things that I am teaching my boy, one of them is for him to tell me what happen to him. I think he is slowly getting it although he still needs time to process his thinking.

Like today, he spilled his milk in the morning. And after a while, while I was changing him, I asked him what happened just now. He said "I cry", then I asked him "Why did you cry?", he paused for a while and I said "because?", then he followed by saying "Because I drop the milk". And last night, he asked where is his sister as he didn’t see her during bed time.

I think we just need to have faith, our kids will get to their destination one day, albeit later than others but its ok, better late than never.

BTW, any of your kids taken a language test by their ST before? My boy’s teacher at leapfrog said that she’s concern about his language proficiency and comprehension so she is suggesting that we allow him to let her conduct a language test on him.

My son did before. It's quite tedious. She will show a lot of cards and ask to point to the blue car, then the red house after pointing to the blue house. But at least I know what he couldn't understand. someone here said its a waste of time for all these assessments. But I think it's necessary for the therapist to understand where the child stand and from where to proceed.

how about your Leapfrog report?

Mine have suggestions on what activities to do with him. Even what games to play. The report is categorized into history, parent interview, her observations, IQ assessment, summary, recommendations etc. very detailed. Even what sentences he used when conversing with her were in the report.

And yes, she even stated that he’s in the spectrum - high functioning.
