Just a general question on judging the academic performance of a primary 1 or 2 student in NYPS. What is considered \"good\" in terms of overall % results in relation to the cohort?

      Like to know too.

      Hi VooVoo and 8228,
You will be able to tell based on the analysis slip which the teacher gives to the kids. It will state which percentile your child is in with relation to the cohort.

By the way, how do they breakdown the percentile? 4 quartiles?

The analysis slip is usually given out together with the report book.

Yes, there are no class positions indicated. However, the kids will know who are the top 5 in the class as these pupils, together with the parents, will be invited to the annual Prize Presentation Ceremony to receive the "High Achiever’s Award".

          Yes, 4 quartiles.

My child wouldl b p3 next yr. Can someone advise when we would know about his class allocation? Would it be before the school closes, or only during the school holidays? Also would they stay in the same class for p4 apart from those who were taken out for GEP classes?

The parents will be informed during the school hols. (the last few weeks)
There will be re-allocation again in P4.

Any parents have any student care to recommend near Nanyang? Learning Bliss will be moving to Toh Tuch next year and i am planning to place my child near the school at King Road. Thanks.
