      Hi Tamarind,

my maid is going back end Jan 2010. She told me she wants to leave from my house to the airport. She do not want to leave from the maid agency. In the first place, what right does she have to decide where she wants to leave from. Myanmar maids can really speak their mind. Indonesia maid not so bold.

What made her say that? Your agency's going to do the pick-up?

Don’t know why she say that too. That’s why I thought she was bold.

Compared to filipino maids and myanmar maids, I think Indonesian maids are generally more obedient and thus more suitable to be maids 😉

But I have also heard of Indonesian maids who dare to give black face. Though none of my 5 Indonesian maids so far gave me black face before. I had one filipino maid who liked to give me the disgusted look.

Because some agencies force them to stay on with another employer instead of go home. Some agencies even check their luggages and take all their valuable items.

I always send my maid off personally at the airport from my home. I do the checking of luggage at my home with my maid's consent and in front of the whole family (my hb films down the process).

Maids can run off from agency if they do not want to go back. Beware! I only feel safe to send them off personally and watch them go through the security gates.

I've heard of that as well, especially if you have a couple of weeks left of the contract, unscrupulous agencies palm them off to desperate employers.

Don't forget that unless the WP is cancelled, the maid is still under your care so if she runs away, be sure that MOM would be on YOUR case!

Maids are generally quite timid. Only those worked with \"ANG MO\" before then will be very \"daring\". Witness one Indonesia maid, walking around the whole estate with her \"ang mo\" kids wearing short short skirt and tight tight T shirt + revealing black bra.... When being criticise, she just say \"U R not my boss, so don't be Kah PO\".... Very KL...

                    Tamarind,

That's what I thought so too. Employers are supposed to be the one paying for the renewal of passport.

                    Wow! Kiasimom
So nice your hubby spoil you rotten. My hubby says \"its better for you to work!\" Sigh! We lead so different lives.
                    You think so?
                    Grass is always greener.
SOmetimes I wish I am working so that I don't have to ask DH for money to buy things 😞

But I know material needs is nothing compared to my children's maternal needs 😉

Was quite upset when I read ST forum today.

People are commenting maids lifestyle are better because they have laws to protect them yet still being cynical towards employers and commented that employers should do some reflection and treat the maids better :x :x :x :x

Seriously wondering if the writer is an employer :x :x

I think if the needle doesn’t prick him, he doesn’t know the pain :x :x

When will there be laws to protect employers like us???

NEVER and I don’t think there will ever be :x :x
