is it confirmed she requires surgery?


I had two of my wisdom teeth extracted without surgery. Much cheaper than that.

She points her toothache towards the end of the jaw. Anyway I will be bringing her to the dentist. Any good and reasonable price dentist to recommend? Pls pm me. Thanks.

for short term solution, can ask the dentistist to cut the gum a little to provide space for the wisdom tooth to grow first… dh dentist use this method to delay the surgery cos dh had no time to go for the surgery till few months later.

Thanks big snoopy. This maid of mine also has ingrow nail problem. Bring her to see doc recently. Need surgery of abt $400. Why all this medical problem bring to Singapore and to me? Suay!

my former indon maid also had prob with teeth…complained of toothache…they are foreigners, so the cost is higher. i had my wisdom tooth removed at jurong medical. $400 but can use medisave. got appt via polyclinic.


it’s really suay when maids bring along their health prob and we as employers cannot ignore…esp if newbie and don’t know if she can work.

Ya loh. Really…so many problem…she also got car motion sickness. The most distance she can take is 2 km radius. Like go marketing or shopping for groceries. Any distance that exceeds she will have high chance of vomiting and giddiness in the car. All medication like motion sickness pill cant work on her. First time we dont know about her problem, brought her to in law house for dinner in the west side. Abt 5 km into the journey, she wants to get out of the car as she says cant tahan. How to alight her in the middle of expressway?


So in summary… ingrow nails, toothache, car motion sickness. This burmese maid is the ‘overall champion’ so far of all my previous maid employments.

This is really "heng suay" ones. This happens not only to Burmese maids, also to Indonesian and Filipinos. So, it’s really up to you to decide if she is worth for you to pay for such medical bills.

aiyoh. how come full of problems one? how long has she been with you? If new, maybe ask for transfer?

Unfortunately it will take a long time to train a green horn Burmese maid. It took 1 year to train my previous Burmese maid who was a U grad. Problem is they don't do housework at home.


Tell your brother maid don't just learn English but help around the house and learn cooking from their sister and mother before they come.

Don't frighten me. I read from an earlier post here about a Myanmar maid who cannot wash dishes even after some time, and also cannot open a can :nailbite: I have had my share of training maids and enduring their nonsense...so your 'take long time to train a green horn' reminds me of labour pain and engorgement. I pity my mum who has to face her.

Some of them are just pretending. Mine cannot understand what \"water\" is but can tell me \"dangerous\" when she has to stand on a chair to clean the surface of wardrobes. Can eat but cannot work.
