      Hi mij

How do they go about doing O/A level Maths in year 1/2? Through MOE or thru British Council?

        Hi 2centsworthy,
MOE only allows students to register 'O'/'A' levels through their schools (Sec 4/5, JC) so anyone who wants to do it at a younger age will have to register thru British Council.
        http://www.britishcouncil.org/singapore-exams-school-exams-edexcel-london-gce-how-to-register.htm?mtklink=singapore-exams-school-exams-edexcel-london-gce-how-to-register

It is quite expensive. You can check the above link, under Fees and Payment. Per subject is $200-$300, with practical $500.

From what I heard from the students there, MOE does not allow them to write the ‘O’ and ‘A’ level examinations.

It is also not necessary for the students there to write the national examinations since most of them will be taking the AP examinations, which is in fact easier but considered by most institutions (including local universities) to be an equivalent of an ‘A’ level in that particular subject.

My girl got a place in NUSH and most likely she will get a place too in NYGH. Which one to choose? any comments?

                  Both are equally good.

My guess is if she is good in Chinese then NYGH.

If she is good in Maths & Science, then NUSH.

But my guess is your girl is good in Chinese, Maths & Science, right ?

Then ask her, amongst Chinese , Maths & science, which one she hates most ?

This is my guess of the head only as I don't have the luxury to have this nice \"problem\"

She still cant decide now. Is she still will offer a place in NYGH if she accept the NUSH offer now? She need to reply NUSH before 21st.
