      twogorgeousgirls:
DD received envelope on Friday, got into GEP. In a way feeling relieved as we (and others who have interacted with her) have always felt that spark in her since very young, but if she had been streamed based on her SA2 exam results, may not have ended up in strong top class. DD seems a little dsylexic - working can get the right answer, when statement is copied, the numbers flip and its 1/2 wrong. For a sum of 4 digits, she can end up adding the Ones and Tens column, but suddenly decide to minus the Hundreds and Thousands column. English, correcting the passages with spelling errors is a complete nightmare. Yet for ICAS-type exams, end up with High Ds, reads voraciously, remembers facts after reading once and sometimes in a world of her own.

Any parents out there with kids who display similar behaviours?
Yet, in another way, feeling concerned about being whether DD is then able to cope, the reported lack of amount of time schools spend to prep for PSLE, and the results thereafter...
Hi my child who is in GEP have the same dsylexic problem as your child. The father is also dsylexic. Please have a doctor to check it. My child did not have any major problem in GEP although being dsylexic, and is still taking HCL. Just let the teachers know if verified by the doctor.

Although the same problem you mention still happens in test and exam from time to time 🙂

        Hi…

I just called my DS school General office and they told me that they still have not received any letters from MOE regarding GEP. They said usually their "courier mails" will come every Wednesday. They also said that the MOE may also distribute letters out to schools according to the zones.

Is there any other schools that still have not received any news or letters too?

              ooioo,
thank you so much, a relief to hear no major problems! HCL, amazing! DD's a leftie, chinese characters are, well, occasionally flipped. definitely not considering HCL here 🦆
will consider bringing her to a doc soon. What area of specialization? Pd's to refer?

Thank you tankee. I was thinking too that at least they should tell us in a formal way.

Hmm.. Quite strange then.. Because accordingly to MOE, all letters had been dispatched since last Friday. You might want to call MOE to clarify instead.
