Is the GPA from yr 2 onwards a cumulative GPA? i.e. factors in the previous yr GPA.
In yr 3 subject combinations, are all students offered their preferred choice? -
ks2011:
No, it is not a cumulative GPA. Each year's GPA is based on performance in that particular year's assessments only.Is the GPA from yr 2 onwards a cumulative GPA? i.e. factors in the previous yr GPA.

Yes, almost all students will be offered their preferred choice (first choice). -

Thanks! Do the teachers follow the classes from Yr 1 to Yr 2? Will the form teacher and level head be the same? I guess the teachers may not know the exact schedule yet either. Looks like I'll have to wait until Jan to find out.Choco05:
A question for girls in Yr 2-4 - which term did you do your Shakespeare in Yr 2? Is it always at the same time of the year? Is it examined at the end of the year? Just checking as we only get back mid-year. If it's done earlier, then I will have to do it with my daughter, I guess.
I think it would depend on the year. Some years they did it 2nd sem and others 1st sem. For ours it was 1st Sem.
I just saw that the play for next year is As You Like It, not R&J. Not sure if that's an improvement!
No, the teachers do not necessarily follow the students up from Year 1 to Year 2. Neither do the level heads. -

The school tries its best to give every student their preferred choice for subject combi in Year 3. It takes a lot of effort in terms of time-tabling of students, subjects and teachers and I give kudos to the school for working things out. There have even been cases where a particular subject combi is taken by only one student and still they accomodated her.

The current principal left on 30 Oct 2012, didn’t she?

Another question for Yr2 girls - what did you do in the 2nd semester in Yr 2? The curriculum on iNet only shows the 1st semester. I gather that there was probably something about poetry. Can you give me an idea of what was covered and which poems were studied? Thanks!
We mainly focused on the different types of poetry. Villanelles, Sestinas, Ballads, Sonnets: Petrarchan and Shakespearean -
Hi,
I would like to find out how RGS conducts its Science and Humanities (History & Geography) curriculum. Is it on a modular basis (i.e. 1 term Physic, next term Chemistry etc and final exam on all 3 Sciences)
Aprpeciate any feedback.
Thanks
