Quite frankly, I just don’t know why ppl and old folks like to ask how many kids we have. Its really none of their concern.


So the singles get asked when they are getting married.
The married get asked when they are having kids.
The one with one gets asked when number two is coming.
Then those with two will get asked which kindy they are attending, what enrichment classes they are shuttled to and when they are in p6, how well they did for PSLE.
And then the whole cycle starts again.

Gosh! Can’t old folks ask anything else?

I remember reading some years back, singles were hiring social escorts to pose as partners at Chinese New Year. There is so much pressure to confirm to society’s norms and expectations at all times.
