Dear Parents - I’m a wking mother and my DD is moving on to P4 and DS to P2 next year.

Just wondering how to manage my kids best esp for my P4 next year. They currently go to Student Care which helps somewhat with the academics (sch work at least). But with CCA, piano and sch enrichment classes in school - it seems a waste of money going to student care just 1ce a week, but worry that the academics will suffer as we get back late and the kids are too tired by then even if we hv the energy to coach them in their sch wk.

So, thought to see how other parents who’s been thru’ these phase can advise. Do they go home straight after staying back in sch then do tuition in the evening? What abt logistics?

Currently, at a loss of what to do … any sharing is very much welcome.
      Thank you all in advance!

      Lynn

My kids come straight home after school. Ok lah bcos I am a SAHM.

They have bath, lunch and then nap. Totally unproductive if they don’t nap.

Fortunately I have no problems arranging
tuition after dinner bcos most tutors are avail in the evening as their students’ sessions are around 4+…

Son goes to English tutor's place...the others are home tutors.

Maid bring them over to tuition class. Trying to teach them to learn how to be independent.

Mine will be on his own starting next year. I’m kinda of worried.

Back to the topic, how do you handle during school holiday? Back to student care?

Mar & Sep Holidays - yes, continue with Student Care

June Holidays - I usually take then on a short vacation so it’s usually 2 weeks off and then back to Student Care
Nov/Dec Holidays - Fully out of Student care until the wk before X’mas to re-start their engines. The rest of the time, it’s bumming around at granny’s place and we’d usually take a longer vacation during this time as well. This is also a time where I send them to those day camps (non-academic ones) so that they can really let loose and relax.
