Hi all, my DS got his cca selection form. Unfortunately, the cca that he wants to choose is not within the recommended list.

Can I check with you, from your experience the previous yrs, how r e chances like to get into his 1st or 2nd choice if they are not within e recommended list?

One CCA teacher told me that, as long as your child is considered a talent in the a particular CCA, he or she will get in to the CCA even if the CCA is last on the selection.

Hence, if there is any particular CCA that your child feels strongly against joining, but has been identified as a talent, you may like to reconsider including this CCA in one of the three. There is a very high possibility that your child will end up in this CCA.

FYI, my boy got into a CCA that was not in his recommended list (not many, to begin with ).

No. It doesn't mean that your girl can only choose CCA in the recommended list. She can choose any CCA. It's just that her chance of getting into a particular CCA will be higher if she is considered a talent in that CCA.

Any idea when the P3 exam result would be releasing.Heard news there are maybe 3-4 coming up to M class. In additon about 7-8 out from N class.


I guess with the position ranking we can see our DD & DS in which percentile.

I thought the Top 3 and the top students in the respective subjects were already announced yesterday? :scratchhead:

Don't think they will release the individual ranking. I think it depends on the teachers whether such information will be provided.

My DD wan to join Girls' Brigade which is not in the list. As a parents of course I'd like her to take Chinese Orchestra, think will help in her DSA ( correct me if im wrong) .

1st recommended does it mean higher chance being selected then 2nd recommended?

Don't think uniform group would be a recommended or so call spot for talent. The 2nd choice & 3rd choice are recommended meaning high chance the school will take in.

As suggest by QMS, if the ECA you really against of no interest it is best not to put inside the selection list.

YYLazymom, I heard from my girl that Girls' Brigade asked students who were interested in joining to write down their names in a list during the CCA Fair. Did your girl do so since she was interested?

Yes, Chinese Orchestra will help her in her DSA in future. Students in Chinese Orchestra need to meet at least twice a week for practice and more frequently if any competition is round the corner.

On the other hand, uniformed group have meetings on Saturdays (perhaps alternate). Are you aware of this?

Based on the choices, your girl will most likely go to Chinese Orchestra.
